"On track to success"
ARTIST STATEMENT
I was out around 6:00pm looking for leading lines and after taking pictures of the deck railing for a while I went to the train tracks. It was dark out so I had to play around with the settings. I landed on ISO 12800 f/5.6 and 1/4 of a second. I was originally just taking pictures of the tracks, but I decided that the line should in fact lead to something soI asked a friend to stand down there a ways. The pennies are on there because there has been a train passing every night and we wanted to get some flat pennies, plus I thought it added a more interesting look to the image. I took a bunch of pictures of this one scene and landed on this one because the arms in the air make it look like they are balancing on the track which is a fun, childish thing to do. I think that the lights in the background to this image give a good depth to the image and make it a little bit brighter. While taking this image I also waited for czars to pass to that the right side of the rail would be slightly light up along with the penny. Overall I'm very pleased with this image and it really came together all at the right time.
