Have you heard of Twin Lakes basketball? It is on W Bloomfield Road. One of the recreational sports hosted by the complex, but put on by the City of Bloomington, Parks and Recreation is basketball. The Twin Lakes Sports Complex does not only host local recreational sports teams; it also offers memberships.

Twin Lakes Sports Complex has individual membership passes as well as reduced prices for additional family members. The cost of Membership is here. The membership comes with benefits like an indoor 1/5-mile rubberized track, five basketball courts, an indoor turf field, an expanded weight room, a cardio studio, two group exercise studios, free group exercise for members, and discounted personal training packages. The Bloomington Recreation Basketball League uses the 5 basketball courts that they have to run their Youth basketball league.

The Bloomington Twin Lakes basketball players are currently in season three. Games will be played weekly through the first week in March. The player's grades go from kindergarten to 8th grade. They also have a Future Stars league that includes preschool kids. If you are in the 3rd grade or younger, you play with girls and boys. In 4th to 6th grade, including ages 3-5.ou play with kids the same gender as you. Boys play with their ages, but girls play with 4th-6th. The 7th and 8th grades play with people of the same gender. Some people in Edgewood play at Twin Lakes. Oliver Geboy, an Edgewood Primary student who plays on Gary Radford’s 2nd grade basketball team this season says, “ It is fun because you can play with friends.”

People like Tinley Jablonski have played, too. " She said, " It is fun, and I have lots of memories, especially with my friends.” FIBA, basketball's governing body, estimates that at least 450 million people worldwide are playing basketball today. “Besides enjoying the health benefits of regular exercise, fit kids sleep better. Exercise improves school performance and makes kids less likely to develop depression, ” says KidsHealth

Not only has benefits as an athletic complex but has a good basketball league where kids can get moving, make friendships, and have fun doing it. Personally, I think the complex is nice, fun, and a way to make friends. You should give it a try.
