Top 5 Hiking Trails To Go on Over The Summer

Do you like hiking? Do you want to hike but need to know different trails? If so read this. There are a lot of hiking trails in America such as the Appalachian or Pacific Crest trails. There are also a lot of different in Indiana that are quite popular such as the Sycamore Loop Trail or the Jeff Richardson Trail. Here are some reasons why you should go hiking, you can get a lot of exercise, and you can get more muscles, and it is good for your mental health, and it is fun to do it.

This is the Sycamore trail 

The Sycamore Trail is a hiking-only trail  within the Charles C. Deam Wilderness area. Wilderness designation places this area in a special legal status (subject to the 1964 Wilderness Act). It is managed to preserve a natural condition and provide opportunities for solitude. The 4.9-mile hiking trail provides hikers a place to hike away from horse riders to enjoy the solitude of the Wilderness. Cambrie Narrey said, “I went on The Sycamore trail and it was really fun and I enjoyed the nature.” 

Explore this 4.6-mile out-and-back trail near Bloomington Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 48 min to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, running, and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of the day. The best times to visit this trail are March through July.

The Jeff Richardson Loop Trail is a 3.6 km looped trail that starts and ends in Bean Blossom the trail is graded as Medium difficulty so might not be for beginners.

The Terrill Ridge Trail 

The Terrill Ridge Trail is a 5.9 km looped trail that starts and ends in Bloomington. the trail has been graded as Medium level difficulty.

The Pate Hollow Trail is a 7.7-mile hike-only trail is a nice hike through mixed hardwoods with views of Lake Monroe. An old road serves as an inner connector for those desiring a shorter hike. The trailhead parking lot and the first few feet of the trail is located at the Paynetown State Recreation Area managed by the DNR. 

The Pate Hollow Trail

That facility offers camping, swimming, a boat ramp .and marina, a nature center, and additional hiking trails. This trail is a joint effort between the Hoosier National Forest and the Indiana DNR. The parking lot trailhead is administered by the DNR and offers access not only to the Hoosier National Forest Pate Hollow Trail but also to the DNR White Tail Trail. The White Tail Trail intersects just a few feet into the trail. In conclusion, you should go hiking this summer and try one of these trails.
