Our EJHS Cross Country Season So Far.

If you are a good runner or like to run you should try Cross Country. You're probably asking, “What is Cross Country?” Cross Country is where you and your teammates run a 3K (1.8 miles) through different places, mostly the woods or anywhere outdoors. Cross Country is a great way to stay fit and have fun. If you have never heard of Cross Country, you should definitely try it out.

This year's Cross Country team is pretty good so far. There are a lot of great runners that love to run. The team has had a few meets so far in their season. In their first meet they went to Batchelor Middle school. In the junior varsity race Garrett Brown took 7th, Liam Drewes took 9th, and Colton Minderman took 10th. The varsity runners ran a Hokum Karum which is a coed relay. The relay involved a girl running .9 miles followed by the guy and then repeat. Only 5 teams were given ribbons and EJHS had the fourth-fastest team in Josephine Buckley and Josh Bryce. There were around 50 relay pairs in that race. Great job colts. They have many more meets to come, Good luck to our runners!

In their second meet, the cross country team traveled to Indian Creek on Saturday for an eight-team invitational. The girls finished fourth with Josephine Buckley taking 5th and Greta Vagedas 6th. The boys finished third with Josh Bryce taking 4th place, Jesse Dixon 12th, and Zaden Norris 13th. In the boy’s junior varsity race Colton Minderman was 3rd, Sergio Armenta sixth, and Liam Drewes 7th. In the girl’s JV race, Johanna Geboy finished 5th, and Haylie Taylor 7th.

In their most recent meet, They traveled to Batchlor Middle school. One of our Colts runners placed 1st, that is Josephine Buckley. Also Greta Vagedes placed second. Great job to our Colts who were in this meet.

You may not know some of these runners so here are some good runners, Emma Curtis, Josephine Buckley, and Josh Bryce. Emma Curtis says, “my first meet was hard because I wasn't just running for myself, I was running with a partner and I did not want to let them down.” And I completely agree with that, I would be stressed if i had to run with a partner. Good luck to our Colts in the future, be sure to support our Cross Country team in the future.
