Edgewood vs. Seven Oaks

Do you like watching basketball? If so then you should read this article. The Edgewood Junior High School 6th grade girls basketball team played a great game against Seven Oaks on November 20. They beat Seven Oaks 35-5! The team has been working really hard at practices and their hard work clearly showed at this game. One of their coaches, Shayal Chambers said, “They improved on defense and box outs which we were working on at practice and I am very proud of them.”

The score at the end of the first quarter was 12-2 with Edgewood winning. Khloee Wykoff scored three 2 point shots, Maggie Johnson scored one 2 point shot, and Katelyn Ripley scored two 2 point shots. One girl on the Seven Oaks team named Calleigh Bollhorst scored one 2 point shot.

The score at the end of the second quarter was 27-2 with Edgewood winning. In this quarter Khloee Wykoff scored the only three point shot in the game. She also scored two 2 point shots. Story Heckman scored four 2 point shots. No points were scored for Seven Oaks in this quarter. Adaya Kloster, a player on the Seven Oaks team said, “We could have done better, but it was okay.”

The score at the end of the third quarter was 29-3 with Edgewood winning. The only person for Edgewood who scored in this quarter was Audrina Truax. She scored one 2 point shot. Calleigh Bollhorst scored a free throw. Khloee Wykoff, said, “They did really good,” when asked how she thought her team did.

The final score was 35-5. In the last quarter Story Heckman scored one 2 point shot, Katelyn Ripley also scored one 2 point shot, and Adaya Boruff scored a 2 point shot. Calleigh Bollhorst scored one 2 point shot too. Overall it was a really good game for Edgewood. One of their coaches, Cara Clark said, “I thought they did really well.”
