The Super Duper Mario Movie
The Super Duper Mario Movie 12/9/23

It’s-a me, Mario! The new Super Mario movie was a complete success, and for a true Mario fan, allow us to say let's-a go!
Mario and Luigi have been shown in theaters before, although some people would rather forget it. “Super Mario Bros.” was absolutely abominable. The old Mario movie got really bad reviews, and even its star, Bob Hoskins (a.k.a. Mario), didn’t like the movie. All the Goombas were giant bodyguards with monstrous heads, Bowser was a guy with jelly hair, and there were a bunch of different characters that didn’t fit at all in the Super Mario universe.
The cast in the newest Mario movie was amazing. Chris Pratt was an awesome Mario, along with Anna Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Charlie Day as Luigi, Keegan-Micheal Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, and many others faithfully at their sides
75 % of the students at EJHS liked the movie, and 21.6% would rate the movie as an 8, which, to be honest, is pretty good. Mario lovers should also feel at home in the familiar Mushroom Kingdom, the wild Jungle Kingdom, and the frightening Dark Lands. Well, maybe not the dark lands. They were made to be a perfect image of Bowser’s inner (and outer) darkness.
Another incredible effect was all of the easter eggs in the movie. A few of them were:
Jumpman and the “Jumpman” arcade machine: The man in the corner of the pizzaria who played Jumpman was Charles Martinet, the man who voiced Mario and Luigi in the video games. Also, the Jumpman arcade machine was almost exactly like the original “Donkey Kong” game.
8-bit Mario brick wall: When Mario and Luigi smashed through the brick wall in the sewers, they left a hole shaped like 8-bit Mario behind them.
Mayor Pauline: If you’ve played Super Mario Odyssey, then you will recognize Mayor Pauline on the news, telling the people of Brooklyn not to be worried about the flooding.
Spike: Mario and Luigi’s old boss, Spike, was a flash to the past all the way to “Wrecking Crew”, where Spike was the main villain. So the role of bully was perfect for Spike.
Pikmin: Mario and Luigi’s rich clients had a glass statue of Pikmin in their house.
Rainbow road: The shortcut to the Mushroom Kingdom from the Jungle Kingdom is the very image of the Rainbow Road racetrack in the Mario Kart games.
Mario Kart customization: When Mario, Toad, and Peach customize their karts, the way that they customize their karts is the same way that they do it in Mario Kart.
Duck Hunt pictures: In the pizzeria, there are many pictures on the wall, including the duck in “Duck Hunt”.
Power-up sound effects: The sound effects when Mario powers up are the same beloved sounds that he gets in the video games.
Bowser playing the theme from W1-2: The tune that Bowser plays with Kamek is the same as the second level in the original”Super Mario Bros.” video game, also known as “the underground”.
Bowser’s tuxedo: The clothes that Bowser wears at the would-be wedding are yet another reference to Super Mario Odyssey. He wears them at the would-be wedding with Peach in the video game as well.
The Super Mario movie is definitely an amazing movie, and I recommend it to anyone and especially Mario lovers!
