Mario VS Sonic

Let's-a-go! Mario has Sonic beat by a million miles! If you are against this, then continue reading! This will change your mind!

First off: the power-ups! Sure, Sonic would have Mario beat if they didn’t use their power-ups, but even if Sega made Sonic by himself powerful, they neglected to do so for his powers. Sonic has two at least somewhat decent power-ups, one of which is extremely hard to get. Meanwhile Mario has dozens of really good power-ups, some very common, some extremely exotic, all amazing! Just a few of those power-ups are: Super Mushroom, Mini Mushroom, Fire Flower, Ice Flower, Super Star, Cloud Flower, Super Leaf, Boo Mushroom,  Boomerang Flower, and of course, Cappy!

Another fun thing about Mario is that he has a larger enemy variety as well as the power-ups. His archnemesis is obviously Bowser, like Eggman (Dr. Robotnik) is Sonic’s. But Bowser has a more exotic selection of minions, while Eggman creates all of his minions, and makes them look extremely similar. For example, Eggman’s minions include millions of machines. There are very few Sonic enemies that have flesh and blood. Meanwhile, the minions of the King of the Koopas are many. But Bowser isn’t Mario’s only big enemy. Wart and Wario also make their appearances in Super Mario U.S.A., and Super Mario Land 2. Bowser also has underlings who are bosses, like Boom Boom, Pom Pom, the Koopalings, and Bowser Jr. The Bosses in Sonic the hedgehog are basically just Eggman, Metal Sonic, and the Deadly Six. In Mario, there are many, many more characters that are lesser than the bosses. Just a few of those are: Goomba, Koopa, Bob-omb, Boo, Buzzy Beetle, Cheep Cheep, Piranha Plant, Shy Guy, Dry Bones, Thwomp, Thwimp, Cheep Chomp, and many more!

In addition to that, the new-ish Super Mario Bros. Movie has made nearly double as much money as both Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 combined! Nearly double! Those Sonic movies were great, of course, but they just couldn’t compare to Super Mario!

Over the years, Nintendo has been coming out with new Mario games, usually adding lots of new features. For example, in Super Mario Galaxy, many new power-ups, like the Bee Mushroom, Ghost Mushroom, and Spring Mushroom, made their first appearance. In that same game, there were also many new additions in enemies, like Octogoomba and Topmaniac. Not to mention a whole new scenery in  the game.

All in all, because of the power-ups, characters, and constant new additions, Mario is much better than Sonic. Not much of a contest. (This is not meant to offend any Sonic fans.)
