Chocolate Moose vs. Jiffy Treet

Everybody has heard of Chocolate Moose, one of the best ice cream shops in downtown Bloomington. Just finished climbing at Wonderlab or eating lunch at Runcible Spoon? Imagine you’re super hot and you’re just trying to find an economical place to finish off your fun day! If this is the case, Chocolate Moose is the place for you! Chocolate Moose has lots of experience from having multiple locations across Bloomington, and it’s evolved over the years from a shack (see the picture) to a modern shop! Chocolate Moose also has a very big food menu too! Their prices are some of the best in Bloomington and according to visitbloomington.com, is also considered one of the best ice cream shops. Their current best-selling flavor of ice cream is Moose Chocolate or Grasshopper. “My favorite flavor would have to be Sweet Cinnamon,” states a worker at Chocolate Moose, “I think our shop stands out because of how it evolved from the penguin shack."

Now we all know Jiffy Treet, the small and cute little ice cream shop in Ellettsville. Wouldn't it be amazing to get a yummy, cold, ice cream cone from Jiffy Treet after a long day at school or work? The three things that the workers think make their ice cream shop the best in Ellettsville are treating their employees like family, having good, fresh ingredients, and having a great community of sports and families. Jiffy Treet first opened in 1948! Crazy, right? Their best-selling ice cream flavors are either Superman or Cookie Monster. Dylan, one of the workers from Jiffy Treet, states, ”My favorite flavor is JT crunch. I would say that the shop stands out because of all their options and how long they have been around.”

While visiting Chocolate Moose and Jiffy Treet, there were many customers ready to give the place an amazing review! Kids at EJHS are also enjoying the shops! For example, Alainah Peters states, “I like Jiffy Treet because it has a bunch of flavors and different options.” Another student, Katelyn Woodcock, states, “I like Chocolate Moose because it has really good ice cream and it has a bunch of unique flavors!”
