Night At Paris Dance

Everyone got their dance moves ready for the Edgewood Night in Paris dance at EJHS! The EJHS Student Council and PTO have worked hard and they asked all EJHS students to participate in the winter dance "A Night in Paris." This event took place on Friday, February 9 from 2:30-5pm at EJHS. There was a DJ, dancing and more in the gym. The cafeteria was where conversations and concessions happened. Concessions included glow items, candy, pizza, and drinks going for $1-$3/each, equal to 1-3 pre-purchased concession tickets.

Pre-registration was available which, unlike last dance, the line for unpaid students was much shorter because of the amount of students who were able to pre-order and get their tickets in 8th period  Students who pre-purchase their tickets online were given their ticket at a different time before the dance, letting you get into the dance sooner. For students who are unable to buy their tickets online, entry was available at the door for $7. All money earned went directly back to support EJHS students and teachers through your EJHS PTO.

Students got their faces painted by Mr. Kensek.

Although the registration line was shorter, the concessions line was backed up from the 9th row to the cafeteria door by the vending machines. The food and drinks you would buy stay in the cafeteria to be eaten/drank. Matthew Rouker (Rook-er) said, “My favorite part of the dance was hanging out with my friends.” The cafeteria tables were decorated with small Eiffel Towers and candles. In the gym was the place where all of the dancing happened. The students would do the dances to the songs or freestyle in a circle.

This all wouldn’t be possible without Mrs. Schlemmer the sponsor for the student council, which is the group that partners with the PTO to put on our school dances. She and her crew helped with theme, decorations, timing, and more!
