Hope For The Holidays Event!

Have you ever wanted to go to an awesome event, then this is the right one for you! The Hope for the Holidays event is an event that the people in our community attended. It was on November 14th and 16th at the Pavilion at Switchyard Park, 1601 S. Rogers Street. This event is meant to raise money for the homeless and show off decorated trees.

At the Hope for the Holidays event they wanted to raise money to put toward the homeless. The New Hope for families is helping provide things for the homeless. One thing that they are providing them with is shelter. They are also providing these families with early learning programs.

Some things going on at the event are, Sherwood kids are performing at 6:30 pm, Santa is coming from 5:00-8:00 pm, there will also be a food truck on site from 4:30-7:00 pm, and many more events! One thing that  Amy Scialdone Stolberg, co-chair of this year’s tree festival says about this year's event is,  “It’s so great to see Hope for the Holidays become an annual holiday tradition for so many people in our community!  It is just amazing to see the talent, creativity and time poured into all of the unique trees contributed by local individuals and businesses.” I totally think that it is so great that this year’s festival is going well too!

There were also lots of trees involved in this event. There were more than 50 decorated trees at this event. During the event all the trees were on sale for a special “Buy it Now” price. All of the trees remaining after the event were auctioned on the last day of the event. In addition to the lights there were also lots of lights and tinsel.

Going to the Hope for the Holidays event is a great experience overall from what I’ve heard. I hope you get a chance to go sometime and really get more of a feel for what it's like.
