Two Sticks Bakery is a bakery in downtown Bloomington that everyone must try! In this article we are going to go to the bakery and interview some of the workers and some of the customers, as well as trying some of the food ourselves and giving our opinions. We will also be explaining some of the history behind the bakery. We hope you enjoy this and maybe someday will go to Two Sticks!

The bakery has been open since 2018, and lets just say, people LOVE it! The “Earth Eats” site says, “If you are lucky enough to have a locally owned and operated bakery in your neighborhood, then you know how happy the residents were in Bryan Park and Elm Heights near downtown Bloomington, when Two Sticks Bakery opened on South Washington.” We completely agree because the bakery is amazing! We admire how much effort they have put into this, and find it very inspiring for kids our age.

Not only did we interview the customers at the bakery, but we also found some of our own students who have been to the bakery, and enjoyed it! Lauren Martindale has been to the bakery multiple times, and thinks that, ¨their food is really good.¨ Lauren's favorite thing to eat at the bakery is either the cookies or the peach turnover. The 6th grader would recommend the cookies, as she says, ¨they’re really good!¨

Both of us LOVED the bakery, as we enjoyed an apple turnover and a  cinnamon roll. The bakery was very crowded, with a line going outside of the building, which shows how popular it is. We got to go behind the counter, and talk to one of the owners, Amanda Armstrong. She was AMAZING, and we absolutely loved talking to her! We saw some of the baking-process while we were interviewing her, and collectively found it very interesting. We asked her what her motivation was for opening the bakery, and she said she and her co-founder Kassie Jensen decided that they wanted to bake everyday as a lifestyle, not just a hobby that they do at home. The two of them surprisingly didn’t have any trouble, other than “installing the espresso machine!” She told us that she tried to be as “unique as possible with the bakery, but also getting some tips and tricks from bakeries that are farther away, like Cinicitati.¨ For Amanda, she said that the bakery life is something she has always enjoyed in her past jobs, and she said, “When Kassie had mentioned the idea of making a bakery, it was a dream come true.”

In conclusion, we think that Two Sticks Bakery is an AMAZING place, and you should take the time to go try one of their pastries, (We recommend the apple turnover or sugar cookies!) Everybody there were super nice, and we even talked to a few customers who come to the bakery often, and they had tons of positive things to say about Two Sticks! Let us know your opinion here!
