There has been a bunch of strange paranormal activity everywhere around the world. Most of it is unexplainable. There are a bunch of places with strange paranormal activity that most people can’t explain. A lot are here in the US. So, what are some of the most haunted places in the US?

Stanley Hotel

The first location is the Stanley Hotel which is located in Estes Park, Colorado. The Stanley Hotel is known for a bunch of things. One of those things is the paranormal encounters people have had at that hotel.  One well known paranormal place in the hotel is room 217. Stephen King, a well known horror book author had a weird experience in room 217. After having a lucid nightmare King had woken up in a panic, he decided to fall back asleep. When he was lying there, the whole idea for the shining had come to his mind. “I do believe that it’s haunted, there's been a lot of proof,”  says Caitlyn Bayne.

The Conjuring House

The second place is The Conjuring House, located in Harrisville, Rhode Island. The Conjuring house is a house known for a family’s haunted experience in it. So far, 7 movies based off of the house have been released. A woman who moved into that house died in 1885. Later, in 1970 a couple with 5 daughters moved in. It wasn't long before the children had started seeing and interacting with spirits. The family would also constantly smell a terrible rotting stench in their house. Later, in 2022 The Conjuring house was hailed as the most haunted house in Rhode Island.

The Whaley House

The third place is the Whaley House located in San Diego California. In the 1850s a man named Thomas Whaley decided to build a house for him and his family. Supposedly he had built his house on the site of an execution. Many people believe that ghosts do haunt the Whaley House. Along with that, many deaths have happened on the property. Such as Thomas Whaley Jr who had died of Scarlet Fever in that house in 1858. Their daughter, Violet Whaly died there in 1885. And a man named James Robinson who died of an execution there in 1852. Those ghosts are all rumored to haunt the property.

The White House

The fourth place is The White House located in Washington DC. It is said that there are many ghosts that roam The White House. Andrew Jackson is supposedly said to be lying in his bed in the Queen’s Room and lets out a laugh that has been heard in the White House since the 1960s. An unnamed British soldier who had died in the war 1812 who roams around the property holding a torch. Thomas Jefferson is said to play his violin in the Yellow Oval Room. Abraham Lincoln also appears in the LincolnBedroom and the Yellow Opal Room, many people have claimed to see Lincoln. “I think it's crazy but also very believable since a bunch of presidents have lived there and died there,” says Dorothy Hamilton.

Eastern State Penitentiary

The last place is the Eastern State Penitentiary located in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Eastern State Penitentiary was a prison that hosted many hard-core prisoners. They would do harsh punishments on the prisoners there. Some of them were things like the “The Hole'' which was an underground that had nothing but little food and little water inside of it. There was another punishment called the mad chair which would squeeze an inmate so badly that circulation was cut off, later causing them to need amputations. The prison had later shut down in 1971. It is considered to be one of the most haunted places in the US. Some of the cell blocks are known to be haunted. Such as cellblock 6 which was known for shadowy figures roaming the walls. Another cellblock that is haunted is cell block 4 where there are visions of ghostly faces.
