Movies Coming Out Over the Summer

What do you do over summer break? There are so many good outside activities but it is also great to watch movies too! Five upcoming movies to watch over the summer are Haunted Mansion, Elemental, R.A.D.A.R: The Bionic Dog, Harold and the Purple Crayon, and The Little Mermaid (Live Action)
Haunted Mansion is releasing on July 28, 2023. Gabbie, a single mom who just moved, hires a tour guide, a psychic, a priest and a historian to help her get rid of the ghosts in her mansion. This movie was directed by Justin Simien, the writer was Katie Dippold. Gabbie the single mom is played by Rosario Dawson. Some of the other actors and actresses are Jamie Lee Curtis, Winona Ryder, Owen Wilson, Jared Leto, Danny DeVito, Dan Levy, LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish and many more. Josephine Buckley said, “ I am really excited for the Haunted Mansion because it looks eerie and action filled and I like those types of movies!” Emma Warner is excited, “I have seen the original one and I have seen the muppets one, I am just excited for this new one.”
Elemental, coming out on Friday June 16th. This animated Disney and Pixar film has Ember a fiery young woman, friends with Wade, a fun go-with-the-flow guy who challenges her beliefs on the world around them. Elemental is directed by Peter Sohn and it was produced by Denise Ream. The main characters Ember, is played by Leah Lewis and Wade is played by Mamoudou Athie.
R.A.D.A.R: The Bionic Dog, this is getting released on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. This movie is about a boy and his dog with bionic powers that save a small town from two crooks. The cast includes Dean Cain as mayor, Ezra James Lerario as Gabe, Caroline Elle Abrams as Kylie, Paul Wilson as Dr. Van Hook, Victoria White as Debbie, and many more. It is directed by Scott Vandier and written by April Smallwood.
Harold and The Purple Crayon, Friday June 30, 2023 is when this movie is getting released. Harold embarks on a very magical mission with the help of his purple crayon. The director is Carlos Saldanha, the writers are Dallas Clayton, David Guion, and Michael Handelman. The cast includes Zachary Levi, Zooey Deschanel, Camille Guaty, Lil Rel Howery, and many more.
The Little Mermaid is coming out the day after school is over on May 26, 2023. A young mermaid trades her voice with a sea witch so she can go explore the land and impress a prince. This film is directed by Rob Marshall, the writers are David Magee, Rob Marshall, and John DeLuca. The main cast is Halle Bailey as Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, and Javier Bardem as King Triton. Poppy Bishop said, “ I think it sounds interesting and there seems to be new plot changes that I think will make it interesting!” Another person excited to see it is Kinley Butler saying, “ I hope it's amazing, I can’t wait for it!” Eden Norton is excited to see the Little Mermaid, “ I am excited that it is under the sea live action, I am also excited to see singing crabs!”
These are all great movies if you get bored over the summer. All of these come out during the summer months, June and July. There is one, The Little Mermaid that comes out the day after school, May 26th.
