Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, released in May of 2022,(USA) is based off of the Marvel comics written by Stan Lee( December 28, 1922 - November 12, 2018). It is the sequel to Dr. Strange(released in 2016) and is the 28th film of the MCU(Marvel Cinematic Universe). It was rated 3.6 stars, and is intended for Mature Audiences only. It was directed by Sam Raimi and produced by Kevin Feige. Filming for Multiverse of Madness began in 2020, but had to be put on hold in 2021 due to COVID-19. Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch(Steven Strange), Elizabeth Olsen(Wanda Maximoff), Xochitl Gomez(America Chavez), and Rachel McAdams(Christine Palmer). A few EJHS students even saw this movie. "Love it!" Nick Bikoff said. And even if they haven't watched it already, some students have plans to do so. "I am excited to start the Marvel collection, and I think that it will be one of the better ones," Wren Ferguson said.

The movie starts off with Dr. Strange and  America Chavez in a strange landscape, running away from a monster. The two of them are trying to get to a book called the Book of Vishanti. Dr. Strange at first tries to hold the monster down while America Chavez tries to get too the Book. However, Dr. Strange tries to steal something from America, which results in him dying. Both get sucked into a star shaped vortex. Then we see this was actually a dream that Steven Strange has.

Wanda beginning to Dreamwork.

The next thing that happens is Dr. Strange attends Christine Palmer’s wedding. During Christine’s wedding, an octopus like beast comes out of nowhere and starts to destroy things on it’s mission to chase down a teenage girl. Dr. Strange and his friend and comrade, Wong, defeat the beast and corner the girl. The girl is America Chavez, and while eating in a restaurant, Strange and Wong discover that she can travel through dimensions. They decide to take her to Kamar-Taj. Kamar-Taj is a place where sorcerers and sorceresses go to train and control their powers.

Dr. Strange goes to enlist the help of the Scarlett Witch, Wanda Maximoff, to help him. He tells Wanda his dilemma and reveals her location. However he discovers that Wanda is the one that is sending the monsters after America Chavez and that she is under the Darkhold. Wanda does this so that she can live with her children, who are alive in another dimension. (see WandaVision for explanation) The Darkhold is a book containing dark magic. Wanda attacks Kamar-Taj, but Dr. Strange and America travel to a different dimension before Wanda gets to her and destroy the Darkhold. Unfortunately, Wanda takes Wong as prisoner and demands he take her to another place with the Darkhold’s spells.

America and Strange think that they are safe in their different dimension, but the Darkhold has a spell called “Dreamwalking”, which allows a the spell user to temporarily possess themselves, but in a different dimension. Wanda uses this spell to find them and tries to capture America. They run away from Wanda in an exhilarating chase with that universe’s Christine. They end up finding the Book of Vishanti, but Wanda destroys it. She kidnaps America and sends Christine and Dr. Strange to a destroyed universe. Dr. Strange fights with the last survivor of that universe, which is another Dr. Strange.

The two fight and Dr. Strange uses Dreamwalking to help out America, and when she is free, she takes Wanda to the dimension with her children in it, as well as the Wanda she possessed. Her children are terrified of this Wanda, and after Wanda realizes that, America takes her back to the original dimension, and she destroys all of the Darkhold's across the Multiverse. Even though Wanda is the villain in this movie, some people can still sympathize with her. "I think that it is very sad. I think that she should get a second chance," Bella Bennet said.  America also starts training to become a sorcerer. Everything is good in their universe, for now.
