The barn dance was a great event at EJHS but a lot of people didn’t go. This article is to tell the people that didn’t go what it was like.

The barn dance wasn’t crazy at first but after a little it got crazy people started to sing along with the songs and danced. The dance really started to get crazy once everyone who paid at the dance instead of the people who prepaid for tickets. The only difference was that it was one dollar more than if they had prepaid. The tickets if you prepaid were six dollars and if you bought one there it would be seven dollars.

Some of the songs they played were “The Macarena”, “Cotton Eye Joe”, “Boot Scootin Boogie”. Mrs. Hanson thinks, “It was so neat to see students and staff line dancing together.” When I asked What was the best part about the music. The people at the dance sang along and danced to the song they knew. A lot of the songs they played were requested and not just randomly played. There were a lot of people dancing in the gym with their friends or their dates.

In the Cafeteria there were concessions and a lot of people were eating and buying things. There were candy pizza cans of pop and random things like glasses and grills that would light up. People bought a lot of pop and candy. The candy at the end was three kinds of candy and no pizza and barely any pop. The things you could buy were sold out within an hour of the dance.

The dances were mostly slow or line dances but every once and a while there would be a crowd of people watching people doing dances. There were a lot of boys who went to their friends instead of going with girls but everyone had the same energy. The people going did do some pretty weird stuff like carrying their friends and other stuff like that. There were a lot of people ditching their dates or even breaking up with their dates.

People at the dance.

At the end of the dance a lot of people were doing the electric slide and then there was a group photo of everyone at the dance that was taken by Mrs.Schlemmer and Mrs.Straw. There were a lot of people there but in conclusion the barn dance was fun and a lot of people enjoyed it.
