Go, Indiana! Indiana was chosen to go to the NCAA tournament! Indiana women’s basketball is the number 1 seed in the tournament! They also hosted the first 2 rounds of the NCAA tournament. Sadly, the men lost Sunday, March 19th against the Mami team but they worked hard and played tough.

In the first game, the girls played against Tennessee Tech! It was a tough game but Indiana was up a lot! The final score was 77 to 44. Sydney Parrish scored 19 points and 8 rebounds, Grace Berger with 17 points, Yarden Garzon with 12 points, Lilly Meister with 7 points, Chole McNeil- Moore made a three-point shot, and Makenize Homles did not play in the game at all. In the end, both teams did great!

The second was at home just like the first, it was at home. IU played against Miami. Indiana played tough but IU lost against Miami by two points! In the last couple of seconds, IU and Miami were tied but then one Miami player, Destiny Harden scored a jump shot which made them in the lead with seconds left in the game. According to https://theacc.com/boxscore.aspx?id=JcLFfL9RUu0H5ystoOMbjQ7A58QMysWHEEqi7hufVoQXO5nVxbctjHh%2F6ifARsoKUNz2 , Mackenzie Homles scored 22 points, while Grace Berger 17 points, Yarden Garzon with 10 points, Chole McNeil- Moore scored 9 points, and both Sydney Parrish and Sara Scalia had 4 points.

Even though the girls lost against the Miami team, they finish out with a bang with 28 wins and 3 losses. The women were unstoppable through their whole season! Jillian Cowden stated,” It was a good experience with the crowd and it was wild.”

Thank you to the coach of IU women, Teri Moren for making a tough and hard-working team. Hopefully next season they will win and keep working hard as they did this year.
