Fowler's Pumpkin Patch

We all should know of pumpkin patches. They are where you get, well, your pumpkins. Oftenly, they have a giant field of lines of pumpkins. That’s what most people I’ve met describe pumpkin patches as. I would say the same, except that is not the pumpkin patch my family goes to every year for some pumpkins to carve into spooky Jack-o-Lanterns. We go to Fowler's Pumpkin Patch.

Fowler's Pumpkin Patch is, well, a pumpkin patch, but better. First off, it is still close to Bloomington, so you don't have to drive too far to get there. Secondly, it has so many types of pumpkins. They have normal pumpkins, small pumpkins, gourds, pie pumpkins. You name it, they probably have it. Thirdly, they have cute animals you can pet. The first animals I met there years ago were baby chicks. They are so cute, noisy, and you can even pick them up if you try (they don’t really like to be picked up at first). They also have goats and donkeys, which are always happy to be pet.

Along with pumpkins and cute animals, they also have a corn maze. They have two fields, which they alternate between corn and pumpkins each year. If one has pumpkins, the other has the giant corn maze. This year, they have two mazes, a small one, and a big one to raise awareness of breast cancer. They also have contests in the mazes. The contest is to find 5 Halloween themed decorations around the small maze, mainly found off the correct path the map they give you shows. In the big maze, you only have to find one scarecrow, but that is hard if you don’t know where to look. Each time you find everything in a maze, you get a raffle ticket to win a  Fowlers Pumpkin Patch shirt.

They have some smaller things too, like the hayride.  It's just a normal hayride, nothing too special. They also have food near the barn where you buy your pumpkins and tickets to the corn maze and hayride. All you have to do is donate to a good cause, and you can get some good food.

In conclusion,  Fowler's Pumpkin Patch is a great place to get your pumpkins for Halloween, and have a good time petting the chicks, donkeys, and goats, as well as go on a fun scavenger hunt in the corn mazes. There is something for everybody there. I recommend going there next time you want to get those Halloween pumpkins, or to just have a good time.
