What is Pumpkinfest? Well Pumpkinfest is a EJHS school event Known to be able to celebrate fall holidays with your peers and your community. The date for pumpkin fest 2023 was Saturday, October 21, 2023. This school event is located in the parking lot near the tennis court. This event is also a student-ran event. Mrs. Jones' homeroom works hard just to make sure that Pumpkinfest is fun and that everybody has a good time!

This event was started by Mrs. Jones 6th grade homeroom whenever they wanted to reconnect with the Edgewood community. This started out as a small fun event but then later it led to something way bigger, not only for Mrs. Jones’ homeroom to enjoy but others as well such as students, staff, and elementary students!

This was a pumpkin lit up at night with a light switch on the pumpkin trail!

You may think that Pumpkinfest is just some boring school event where no one is able to have any fun. Well If that's you, you are wrong. Pumpkinfest has all kinds of fun side events, such as costume contests, stands, games, and a trail with pumpkins! The pumpkins on the pumpkin trail have either fake candles or light switches that light up the woods whenever it gets dark.. There will also be many Edgewood students and Edgewood faculty members.

The first year, which was in 2020 was used as a fundraiser. They also held an auction and in the end, they raised $400.

Another side event was trunk or treat on the side. Trunk or treat had some cool car decorations! Such as, Spongebob, Dinosaurs, Skeletons, and much more. There were about 20 cars there and each car gave out a few handfuls of candy. “It was overall a good experience. The food was good,I liked the games and there was a pretty good amount of candy.” Said Kya Crouch.

In conclusion, Pumpkinfest is a really great experience, not just for EJHS students, but all of the Ellettsville community! We definitely recommend attending it next year! Thanks to Colts Chronicles for all of our details!

This is the pumpkin trail located behind soccer fields, and all these pumpkins had beautiful carvings on the front of them. Some had Spiderman, Mario, Mickey Mouse, Pacman, Jack Skellington, someone riding a horse and, Spongebob. There were also light switches and glow sticks inside the pumpkins that made it glow when it was dark.
