Hocus Pocus 2 review

You all probably have heard of Hocus Pocus,

between Hocus Pocus 1 and 2, the original/first movie is more recognized. Last year, Hocus Pocus 2 came out starring the 3 original witches. 1993 or 2022 which version is better? Is Hocus Pocus 2 underrated?

There was one part of the movie that I am so surprised didn’t get very many good reviews. At the beginning of the movie when Winifed, Sarah and Mary were kids is definitely my favorite part of the movie! It is silly and shows how they became witches in the first place. For pretty much the first time ever we saw Winifred care about her sisters.

I was definitely disappointed about the casting. I was expecting all the same people from Hocus Pocus 1. Of course the cast has grown up, but it would have been amazing to have seen all of the original cast. Audrey Gudmundson says, “I was really excited to see the movie, but when I saw the casting I was upset.”

Something that I also loved was when the witches went to the store trying to get children's souls.  When Winifred, Sarah and Mary were drinking and eating skincare items. It was unique and funny to watch something that on a daily basis you wouldn’t see people doing probably ever.

Another amazing part of that scene was definitely when all the witches looked at the aisle mirror. The mirrors at stores make you look funny, but the witches thought it was their face from the children’s souls.

Hocus pocus 2 is an amazing movie, but they could have done better with marketing in my opinion. Molly Wisniewski says, “ I don’t think I have ever watched the movie.” Making a new movie is hard, not every movie will be as good as the first movie. Hocus Pocus 2 is an ok movie. If it had more marketing I think it could have been a little more popular.
