Outrageous Pumpkins

We should all know of pumpkin carving. Many of us have tried it, including me. But, for some people, carving pumpkins is too boring. That's why there are carving contests, for those who want to show their carving skills. But what happens when you get the best pumpkin carvers in the world into these contests? You get the Netflix show “Outrageous Pumpkins.”

        Outrageous Pumpkins gets 7 of the greatest pumpkin carvers in the U.S. to compete with each other for a grand prize of $25,000! For 4 weeks, they will carve some outstanding things into simple pumpkins. Each week has a theme, which they have to theme their pumpkins around, such as Week 1 of the first season is themed around Jack-o-Lanterns, where the contestants must use lights to light up the crazy creations they make. 

      There are two carves every week, and if they win the first carve, they get an advantage for the second carve. Most of the time they got to choose their pumpkins before the contest started, but on the last carve of the first season, it was much better. You see, after the first carve, the second carve had a special challenge, such as the first episode’s second carve’s challenge was to carve a pumpkin themed around the seven deadly sins. The final carve of the fourth week had Atlantic Giants, which can grow up to 4 feet tall, and weigh over 1000 pounds! The challenge was to make a crazy carving of their pumpkin that was over 5 feet tall! That is why the advantage was much better than the previous ones. I won’t spoil the advantage.

                  At the end of every week, one of the carvers is eliminated from the contest. That is only one of the hard parts of the contest. Another challenge in the contest, like most competition shows I’ve seen, there is a time limit for how long they can carve. So they can’t spend 2 days carving their masterpiece. Every time they carve, they also need a story for their pumpkin. Those are the most nerve-wracking parts of the show, other than hoping the carver you want to win doesn’t get eliminated. 

                                  Overall, Outrageous Pumpkins is just one of the great shows for Halloween you can find on Netflix. There are many other fun and funny shows on Netflix, but this one really takes the cake, mainly because it is fun, and intense, while also entertaining all at once. If you have time to watch at least one episode, you will see what I mean when I say this is the best Halloween show on Netflix.
