Boo! It’s almost Halloween. Left and right people are buying Halloween costumes. There are many types of costumes but the main two are spooky and cute non-scary costumes. We prefer scary costumes, and here’s why. Halloween is all about being scared, and that’s what spooky costumes do. Also there are many ways to decorate a scary costume. Another reason we like scary costumes more is because it fits the Halloween vibe, and a costume that is bright and happy doesn’t seem to fit the Halloween vibe at all.

Something you may think of when you hear Halloween is ghosts or vampires. That’s because Halloween is based on frightening things! The point of Halloween is to be scary and get scared too. “The whole point of Halloween is to be scary.” Says Naveya Scott, a student at Edgewood Junior High School. Just imagine being outside on Halloween night and seeing a fairy running around, then imagine seeing a werewolf, which do you want to see?

Now, I don’t know about you but I would much rather see a zombie trudging around on Halloween than Mickey Mouse. It just seems right to be scared on Halloween. I mean if there’s a Halloween vibe it’s definitely a spooky one. Like come on who doesn’t like being scared on Halloween?

You can add to spooky costumes in so many ways. One way you can add to them is by putting fake blood and organs on your costume. You could also use blood on your face and spider webs in your hair. Makeup is another way to make yourself scary, by putting it on your face you can change a basic costume into something way more interesting and spooky! “Scary costumes can end up being a lot more fun!” Says Dorothy Hamilton. So don’t be too scared to get spooky and creative!

In conclusion we believe that scary costumes are better because it’s the entire point of Halloween, there are many ways to add to your costume, and it just feels like the right thing for Halloween, I mean if there is a Halloween vibe this definitely fits it. Katelynn Coffman says, “I want to be mortified,” and who doesn’t, I mean it’s Halloween!
