Ella Laroche does two different sports; even though she may be noticed for pole vaulting, she also does Volleyball. She does volleyball when she is not practicing, and she likes to hang out with friends and family when she is not at the track or at Volleyball practice. She is an active member of her church, so she participates in her free time. When she went to junior high, she tried out for track and decided that she did not like it. Then she said, “ I don’t remember if it was my eighth-grade year or my freshman year, but Walter, the pole vault coach, asked me to be a pole vaulter.”
She told me that she thinks the hardest part of pole vaulting is the fear. Now, she broke the school record, and over time, the fear went away. The original record was held by Ashley Abram. Ella got to see Ashley Abram while she was a senior, says Ella. Ella said, “ I was very excited when she found that she had broken the school record and that my coach said that it would happen eventually. She is very happy that she broke the record.

She plans on either continuing pole vaulting or volleyball in college because she feels that she has that opportunity. She said that she hopes to get over ten feet nine inches by the end of high school because she believes that she has room to grow. She thinks that college is the next big step. But she does not want to do any sports professionally.
Overall, she is in the top ten for girls' high school pole vaulting and can’t wait to take the next big step.
