The Governor's Council holds hearings and approves or denies nominations to the Supreme, Appeals, Superior, District, Probate, Juvenile, Housing , Land Courts, which are lifetime appointments (or til the age of 70).
The Governor's Council also holds hearings and approves or denies nominations for the Industrial Accident Board, the Parole Board and the Tax Board which are term appointments.
If the governor issues pardons or commutations, the Governor's Council approves or denies them.
During their meetings The Governor's Council:
Approves or denies appointments of Notary Public and Justices of the Peace.
Approves or denies the Commonwealth's financial warrants.
Approves or denies the Certification of the Vote for State Offices
Approves or denies appointment of Public Administrators
