Design has always been important to me and my works of art. Design is a way of expression without involving any objects or people; with the absence of these two things it becomes something liberating with no boundaries, just emotion with every stroke of a line and addition of color. Color is said to have rules, but I pay no attention to that. I choose the colors that emphasize detail, working to make the piece as aesthetic as it can be, with color combinations taken from my brain and using no wheel; I have the freedom to create designs from my imagination. Monochrome hints always help to change up color looks, it adds something different instead of having a whole piece consisting of color, I like these additions to some of my pieces when I feel like there is too much color going on or if I feel like something is missing.
I combined all these techniques within my senior piece to create something I enjoy making. But something special and new with this piece was that I collaged and experimented with magazines and learned some cool tricks. During this process I created my glaze by combining glue and paint to enhance the color and shine of the magazine pages. I then used an image of a physical piece to digitally draw patterns within it, blending the physical and digital pieces. My pieces are not created to express any specific thing, they are purely meant for the viewer to enjoy and then maybe form their interpretation. I draw what comes to my head and continue like that until I get a full piece; I enjoy this process because it's liberating and stress relieving, and that’s why I create.

I would like to thank all my teachers I’ve had in my four years at Dreyfoos. I’m grateful for all their advice that has benefited my growth as an artist and person. Every criticism and complement has forced me to improve and master artistry.
To my friends that have been there for me at my best and worst, i would like to thank you for all these memories that have made school enjoyable, and thanks for all the memories we created outside as well.
The day we went to Wynwood walls and it poured the whole day. #🤦♀️
The time we flew to Atlanta for a concert. #oop
When we took a trip to Savanah, Georgia and Orlando. #roadtrip
Dear class of 2021, I hope you take your senior year as serious as you have taken every grade prior. This is not a time to slack off and relax, this is a time when the decisions you make will decide your future. Take this year to figure out what you want to do in life, and hopefully stay on track for graduation.
As a visual arts senior your senior year should be a time to experiment and try things outside of your comfort zone, having new things to learn and experience will just add onto your skills. Your senior year should be smooth and easy if you do everything you have to do, which shouldn’t be too difficult, unless you want a challenge.
As a procrastinator I was able to complete and get through everything I was given; your teachers are not after you, they want to see you and everyone graduate. They only want to prepare you for what is to come. I wish you luck, which really isn’t needed, in entering and getting through your final year at Dreyfoos.
