My work represents the transition from childhood to adulthood. As I move on to the next chapter in my life, I wanted to make a piece that reminisced my life growing up. I dug out my old barbies and stuffed animals, to not only create a piece that represented the joys of childhood, but the scariness of adulthood.

All I have to say is thank you Dreyfoos for the best 3.75 years of high school I could ever ask for!
Before coming to Dreyfoos, I was worried about not having a typical high school experience, and I was scared I would regret not going to a normal high school.
After 3.75 years, I know I would not change a thing! The experiences I have had at Dreyfoos are incomparable to the ones I could get at any other school. From Spirit Week, to Prom, to my time on the Tennis Team, I have loved every second at Dreyfoos. I have met so many amazing people that have made my time here so much better.
I have to say, the relationships I have formed over my senior year are ones I will never forget. Thank you to my best friends for making my senior year the best one anyone could ask for! I love you guys!
I wish the class of 2020 the best luck as everyone moves on to a new and exciting chapter in their life!

Congratulations on almost being seniors!
You all have worked so hard over these past few years and have come so far. If you think that your first three years at Dreyfoos went by fast, just wait.
Before you all head into your final year of high school, I just have a couple of things to say:
Many of you will be applying to college, and let me tell you, it is an overwhelming process. To make it a little easier, try to do as many college essays over the summer as you can! I know you may not want to, but writing a little each day will help you so much. By the time you start school in August, you will only have a few left to do and you will be able to enjoy your final year of high school with your friends. I promise you, school work will start to pile up, and after a long night of homework, the last thing you want to do is write an essay.
From personal experience, do not take your senior year for granted. At the beginning of my senior year, I was overwhelmed with college applications. I was stressed out about what schools I was applying to, all my college essays, and making sure I had everything submitted on time. In the middle of my senior year, I was worried about college decisions. By the time I was finally enjoying my senior year, about mid-February, the Coronavirus was encroaching on the United States. At that time it did not phase me that my senior year may be cut short. I was looking forward to my Senior Night after being on the Tennis Team for 4 years. I was looking forward to Grad Bash with my best friends. I was looking forward to my Senior Prom. I was looking forward to graduation where I would finally get to walk across the stage and get recognized for all my hard work. I have realized, after having all those things taken away from me, the time I spent this year with my best friends was way more valuable. Next year, my entire friend group is getting split up. So what I am trying to say is cherish the moments you have with your friends as you ride out your senior year together. Soon, you all will be headed off into different directions and on to your next chapter in life.
I wish you all the best of luck!
Sincerely,
Alexis Effenberger
