Falls-Lenox Primary School Newsletter
May 10, 2024
Dear Falls-Lenox Families,
This morning we held a clap out to cheer on our students who went to the Special Olympics in Elyria today! Pictures can be found below!
Next week our 3rd graders will be taking a special trip to Olmsted Falls Intermediate School on Tuesday, May 14th in preparation for 4th grade next year. In addition, our Kiwanis Terrific Kids will have their final meeting of the year on Wednesday, May 15th. We will be holding a school-wide "Terrific Kids Fundraiser Day" on 5/15. We are asking students to bring in a small donation that will go toward the summer Terrific Kids service project at Falls-Lenox. This project will involve painting on the blacktop area of the playground. On Wednesday, students can vote on the playground designs by placing their donation in the corresponding bin in the lobby. The winning design will then be announced!
Thank you to all of our families for making our staff feel so appreciated this week with the kind notes and shout outs! It was a great Staff Apprecation Week and meant a lot to us! Also, thank you to our FLECC PTA for all of the treats and gifts throughout the week!

May 14th Apraxia Awareness Day
I had a parent reach out and ask if we would help raise awareness for Childhood Apraxia of Speech by wearing blue on Tuesday, May 14th for Apraxia Awareness Day! Childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) is a motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for children to speak. Children with the diagnosis of apraxia of speech generally have a good understanding of language and know what they want to say. However, they have difficulty learning or carrying out the complex sequenced movements that are necessary for intelligible speech. To learn more click you can visit the website below. https://www.apraxia-kids.org/get-ready-for-apraxia-awareness-month-2024/
To show our support, Falls-Lenox staff and students are asked to wear BLUE on Tuesday!

In collaboration with Officer Swope, the following guidelines will help ensure the safety of our students. We appreciate your patience and help!
Children should enter/exit vehicles on the passenger side (directly near the sidewalk) only.
Please pull all the way forward to the white sign that says, "pull up here", so that we can keep the line moving.
Parents and Caregivers should remain in their vehicles.
Please exercise caution and drive slowly when pulling around cars that are loading/unloading to ensure the lane is clear.
