Falls-Lenox Primary School Newsletter
October 10, 2024
Dear Falls-Lenox Families,
Our staff is at school today learning about new resources to support student learning and collaborating as grade level teams to design relevant, interesting, and meaningful work for our students. One of our goals is to design work for students that is tailored to their interests and motives for learning. We believe that in doing this, student engagement and achievement increases.
Next week, the Cleveland Metroparks Mobile Outreach program will be coming to FL and bringing their mobile nature center- NatureTracks, to us! They will be coming October 15th and 16th to teach all our 2nd graders about how animals change their environment. Students will visit the mobile nature center that will be parked in our parking lot for a 40 minute lesson. In this lesson, students will explore simple interactions between the biotic (living) and abiotic (nonliving) parts of an ecosystem. They will discover how living things change their environment and how these changes can happen quickly or slowly.
This is the last weekend to participate in the ECC/FL PTA acts of kindness fundraiser, "Raze Craze". Thank you to our families who are participating in this fundraiser; it will run until October 14th!
Please check out the Community Connections tab for information about additional Olmsted Falls and community based extra-curricular activities for your child. Also, please check out the Counselor's Corner tab for information and resources from Mrs. DeLuca about monthly classroom guidance lessons. Our school counselor, Mrs. DeLuca, is visiting all classrooms this month to teach students about the "Zones of Regulation" and appropriate responses to various feelings.
Please note - Third graders will be going on a field trip to Severance Hall on October 23rd. School fees must be paid in order for your child to attend this field trip. Please call Ms. Williams at 440-427-6401 if you have questions or concerns with this.
If at any time you have questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to contact our main office at (440) 427-6400.
Sincerely,
Ms. Lisa M. Williams
Falls-Lenox Principal

Raise Craze - FLECC PTA Fall Fundraiser (now - October 14, 2024)
Step up and make a difference with our FLECC PTA Fall fundraiser! This is more than just a donation—it's a powerful conversation starter for your family about the ripple effect of kindness in our world. When you contribute, your child takes on a mission to spread goodness, akin to their dedication in a Read-a-thon or Run-a-thon. It's about teaching compassion through action.
Let's rally together, contribute to our schools' success, and inspire our kids to pay it forward with heartfelt acts of kindness. Your involvement is needed for us to be able to continue to provide the same or similar experiences as we have in past years. This includes field trips, programs/assemblies, field day and grade specific activities such as Kindergarten Bridge Ceremony and 3rd grade picnic.
Let's show our children the true power of giving!

Donations may also be made via Givebacks or check written out to FLECC PTA and placed in the FLECC PTA mailbox in either building.
