Falls-Lenox Primary School Newsletter
September 29, 2023
Dear Falls-Lenox Families,
As we head into October, we are enjoying the cooler temperatures and fall-related activities! Our word of the month for October is "Intergrity" and students will be learning about what this means and how to show this characteristic.
This week students learned about safety drills at Falls-Lenox, and we had our first Lockdown Drill. The staff and students did an excellent job with this practice.
The ECC/FL PTA Fundraiser is underway! Thank you to those of you who have already registered your child. If you haven't done so, the registration directions can be found below. The fundraiser links with our PBIS program and encourages students to do acts of kindness. Congratulations to Miss Collins, Mrs. Kostraba, and Miss Smith's classes who are in the lead!
If your child qualified for Title One Reading Tutoring, there is a parent meeting/open house on Thursday, October 5th at 5:30 in the FL media center where you can learn more about our Title One Reading Program, and the ways to help support your child with his/her reading at home.
Lastly, there is no school next Friday, October 6th for students, as it is a Staff PD Day.
Please check out the "Counselor Corner" (click on the three lines in the top left corner) for detailed school counseling information, resources from Mrs. DeLuca, and information about her September lessons! Also, please check out the "Community Connections" tab for information about community actvities and events for kids!
October Seesaw Blurb for families:
As a reminder, our district is using Seesaw this school year to provide you with a window into the classroom. New to Seesaw? Learn more via this quick video. Once you’ve been invited to your child’s Seesaw class, follow this guide to get connected to their Seesaw Journal and begin engaging with their learning! With family-teacher conferences fast approaching, now is the perfect time to take a peek at what your student has been working on so far this year! While you’re in the Journal, you can also comment on your child’s Seesaw posts!
If at any time you have questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to contact our main office at (440) 427-6400.
Please scroll down for lots of great pictures from the week!
Sincerely,
Ms. Lisa M. Williams
Falls-Lenox Principal

ECC/FL PTA Fundraising through Kindness Raise Craze
The ECC/FL fundraiser will run from September 25 - October 20, 2023. Students will be paying it forward through acts of kindness aligned with our PBIS Program and participating/winning prizes at the classroom level (No individual prized for most pledges/dollars raised, etc.). This will allow all students to participate and for the class to work collaboratively, as they show kindness. Please see below to register your child!
RAISE CRAZE (GOAL: $25,000 // DATES: Sept. 25 – Oct. 20) -- We’ve gotten a few questions and I wanted to quickly address them here. Money from this fundraiser will cover the cost of this school year’s FLECC PTA activities (i.e. field trips, family engagement events, field day, etc.)
1. Students will be participating in the fundraiser as a classroom, but it requires each individual student to at least register on the Raise Craze site and, ideally, send at least one email to a potential donor. (Hint: the email can even go to yourself)
a. You can register your student(s) here: my.raisecraze.com/AWJWRUK
2. Review the list of Acts of Kindness (AOKs) with your student(s) and identify 3+ they are aiming to complete over the course of the fundraiser.
3. As AOKs are completed, log into your student(s)’ page and check off what they’ve done. You an even add AOKs not on the list.
4. Classroom teachers will receive updates on how their classroom Bingo Cards are filling up and will share with the class when incentives are reached!
a. They could win: Game Day/Free Choice Time; Mystery Reader; PJ Day; Popcorn party and the highly coveted prize of extra recess!! (see attached)
5. The fundraiser information flyer that was sent home with your student has also been posted to our Givebacks site: https://fleccpta.memberhub.com/public/uploads/f163721e-ae17-4c45-ae43-d959f825f1db
CHARLESTON WRAP (DATES: Now – Oct. 31)
FLECC PTA has used Charleston Wrap the past few years for their Fall fundraiser. With the shift from selling items to completing acts of kindness, we wanted to still make Charleston Wrap available to those who were looking forward to placing an order. Our shopping link will be live through October 31.

If you could change one thing about today, what would that be?
What was the hardest rule to follow today?
Tell me something you know today that you didn't know yesterday.
What did you learn today? What did you enjoy learning the most today?
Tell me what you are writing about during writing workshop.
Tell me about a book you read or was read to you today.
