Falls-Lenox Primary School Newsletter
October 12, 2023
Dear Falls-Lenox Families,
It has been a great week at Falls-Lenox! Just a friendly reminder that if there is a change in your child's transportation, please send a hand-written note to school with your child. For safety reasons, we do not accept phone calls, faxes, e-mails, or SeeSaw messages about changes in transporation, as we cannot guarantee that the teacher will see the message during the school day when he/she is teaching. Also, a reminder that there is no school tomorrow, October 13th for staff and students.
Falls-Lenox is looking for recess aides! This is a great opportunity for part time employment with Olmsted Falls City Schools and get to spend time with our amazing students. The hours are 10:30-12:30 daily. If you are interested, or would like more information about this position, please contact Ms. Williams at lwilliams@ofcs.net.
Next week, the third graders will be taking the Fall State AIR Test on Thursday, October 19th and Friday, October 20th. This is a pre-assessment, as it assesses end of the year third grade standards. We ask that students are at school on time and have eaten a good breakfast on these mornings.
We will be holding a Halloween Parade of Costumes and Classroom Parties in the afternoon on Tuesday, October 31st. A letter is linked below with more information.
SAVE THE DATE - Interested in learning more about how you can support the social and emotional needs of your child? Join us for Family Wellness Night on November 6th! In addition to helping our students learn and grow academically, it is our goal at Falls-Lenox to help students to grow socially and emotionally. We teach students strategies for solving "Big" and "Small" problems, as well as tools for how to regulate their emotions. We will be holding Wellness Week the week of November 6th and hosting a Family Wellness Night on November 6th at 6:00 p.m. This family night is for children and their parents/guardians in grades K-3rd grade. Please see below for more information!

ECC/FL PTA Fundraising through Kindness Raise Craze
The ECC/FL fundraiser will run from September 25 - October 20, 2023. Students will be paying it forward through acts of kindness aligned with our PBIS Program and participating/winning prizes at the classroom level (No individual prized for most pledges/dollars raised, etc.). This will allow all students to participate and for the class to work collaboratively, as they show kindness. Please see below to register your child!
RAISE CRAZE (GOAL: $25,000 // DATES: Sept. 25 – Oct. 20) -- We’ve gotten a few questions and I wanted to quickly address them here. Money from this fundraiser will cover the cost of this school year’s FLECC PTA activities (i.e. field trips, family engagement events, field day, etc.)
1. Students will be participating in the fundraiser as a classroom, but it requires each individual student to at least register on the Raise Craze site and, ideally, send at least one email to a potential donor. (Hint: the email can even go to yourself)
a. You can register your student(s) here: my.raisecraze.com/AWJWRUK
2. Review the list of Acts of Kindness (AOKs) with your student(s) and identify 3+ they are aiming to complete over the course of the fundraiser.
3. As AOKs are completed, log into your student(s)’ page and check off what they’ve done. You an even add AOKs not on the list.
4. Classroom teachers will receive updates on how their classroom Bingo Cards are filling up and will share with the class when incentives are reached!
a. They could win: Game Day/Free Choice Time; Mystery Reader; PJ Day; Popcorn party and the highly coveted prize of extra recess!! (see attached)
5. The fundraiser information flyer that was sent home with your student has also been posted to our Givebacks site: https://fleccpta.memberhub.com/public/uploads/f163721e-ae17-4c45-ae43-d959f825f1db
CHARLESTON WRAP (DATES: Now – Oct. 31)
FLECC PTA has used Charleston Wrap the past few years for their Fall fundraiser. With the shift from selling items to completing acts of kindness, we wanted to still make Charleston Wrap available to those who were looking forward to placing an order. Our shopping link will be live through October 31.

If you could change one thing about today, what would that be?
What was the hardest rule to follow today?
Tell me something you know today that you didn't know yesterday.
What did you learn today? What did you enjoy learning the most today?
Tell me what you are writing about during writing workshop.
Tell me about a book you read or was read to you today.
