Falls-Lenox Primary School Newsletter
August 15, 2025
Dear Falls-Lenox Families,
Welcome to Falls-Lenox Primary School for the 2025-2026 school year! At Falls-Lenox Primary School, our staff believes in fostering strong relationships within our school community while developing the skills necessary to think critically, develop creativity, build self-confidence, work collaboratively with others, and communicate ideas. It is your support and partnership that makes our schools a great place to learn and grow! We are excited about the opportunity to work with you and your child! In this newsletter, you will find important information about the opening of the school year.
This week, you should have received an email with the name of your child's teacher. If you did not receive this email, please call our office at 440-427-6400. We also invite you and your child to Open House/Visitation on Tuesday, August 19th (3rd Grade - 3:00-3:45; 2nd Grade - 4:15-5:00; 3rd grade 5:30-6:15). At Open House/Visitation, you and your child will enter through the front doors of Falls-Lenox and will go to your child's classroom. You and your child will have the opportunity to meet the teacher, share your hopes and dreams for your child and the new school year, learn about the class, and drop off supplies. Please make sure that you have labeled your child's school supplies. Also, our clinic will be open during Open House, if you need to drop off medication for your child. The medication form can be found by clicking HERE. We ask that parents make arrangements for siblings during open house as space is limited and this is a special evening for you and your child. Make sure to stop into the Scholastic BookFair in the Library before or after Open House to get some new books for the year! The Book Fair will only be open on Tuesday, August 19th from 3:00-5:30 p.m. The First day of school for 1st-12th grade students is Thursday, August 21st.
Parents/guardians should have received an email this week to update or complete student registration information in PowerSchool. Please use the following link - https://ps-of.metasolutions.net/public to log in to your existing PowerSchool parent account.
Transportation - Bus assignments will be available starting Monday through the "My Ride app"/web portal. You can locate your child's Student ID Number within your PowerSchool Parent account (needed for My Ride). We encourage you to have your child ride the bus, however if your child is not going to be riding the bus to or from school, please make sure that you have completed an alternate transportation form. That form can be found HERE. In addition, please write a note stating how your child will be getting home if not riding the bus. If your child is a car rider, you will be receiving a car tag during open house (new parents only). Please write your child's last name on the tag and have it displayed on your rear view mirror for pick up. When picking up your child as a car rider, parents will pull in by Kids First, circle around, and pick up on the Kids First Side of Falls-Lenox. We ask all parents/guardians to remain in their vehicles, pull forward, and a staff member will assist your child. We appreciate your patience the first couple weeks with the car rider line!
If at any time you have questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to contact our main office at (440) 427-6400. We are looking forward to a great school year!
Sincerely,
Ms. Lisa M. Williams
Falls-Lenox Principal

Beginning of the Year Book
Our beginning of the year book is "All Are Welcome" by Alexandra Penfold. Classroom teachers will be reading and discussing the book with students. This book is a rhythmic, colorful tour of the first day of school and all of the activities taking place. The pages are filled with diversity of all types, warmth, and an inclusive “all are welcome here” mantra. The book centers on the theme that school is a community where diversity is celebrated and people of all backgrounds, abilities, and appearances are welcome. One page has the text that is the theme of the book, "We’re part of a community. Our strength is our diversity." After listening to the story, students will be completing a self-portrait drawing and activity aligned with the book.
Look for pictures in an upcoming newsletter!

Transportation Information from the Bus Garage
MY RIDE K-12 / BUS ASSIGNMENTS AVAILABLE AUGUST 18TH
Olmsted Falls City Schools uses the My Ride K-12 web portal and mobile app to allow parents and students to access their own secure data for bus stop location, route, and pickup time. The Transportation Department will also use the My Ride K-12 app to provide notifications for any significant route delays throughout the year. The My Ride K-12 app also provides parents/guardians with the ability to message the OFCS Transportation Department directly.
Families can access 2025-2026 bus transportation information for their student(s) BEGINNING ON MONDAY, AUGUST 18TH - either through the My Ride K-12 web portal OR the My Ride K-12 mobile app. For detailed instructions on accessing My Ride K-12 either via the website portal or the mobile app, please access the My Ride K-12 Parent User Guide.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Individual student ID numbers are needed to access secure bus information for OFCS students through My Ride K-12. Student ID numbers are found in PowerSchool Parent Accounts. Once you are logged into your PowerSchool Parent Account and on your student’s page, you will find your student’s 6-digit ID number next to their name. (If you need assistance with your PowerSchool Parent Account login, please contact your child’s school building or Data Management and Accountability Coordinator Mr. Tim Wulfhoop at twulfhoop@ofcs.net or (440) 427-6108.)
If you have a question or notice something that needs to be corrected with your student’s bus information on or after August 18th, please contact the Transportation Department via email through your student's MyRide app or at (440) 427-6350 so we can assist in making any needed adjustments before the first day of school.
ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION REQUESTS
Families who have submitted Alternate Transportation Requests will still receive a separate confirmation email regarding those special requests. Confirmation of Alternate Transportation Requests can be expected by August 18th. If you have not received confirmation of your Alternate Transportation Request by August 18th, please contact the Transportation Department at (440) 427-6350.
HIGH SCHOOL BUS RIDERS
REMINDER: To increase efficiency of high school bus routes, all families of high school students are being asked to indicate whether they will be using bus transportation at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. This information will be collected through the Annual Online New School Year Registration portal. Please plan to complete your annual student registration and respond to the OFHS Bus Transportation question ASAP.
Please note that adjustments to your initial high school bus opt-in/opt-out selection may be made as needed at any point during the school year by contacting the transportation office at (440) 427-6350.
GENERAL TRANSPORTATION REMINDERS
The bus assignment and schedule provided in the My Ride K-12 app for your student(s) are approximate based on the student roster as of the time the routes were made.
The Transportation Department will be making adjustments to busing information, including routing and schedules, all the way up through the start of the new school year.
Pick-up and drop-off times may vary due to additional or withdrawn students that impact the number of stops on a given route.
Please plan to have students out at their bus stop AT LEAST 5 MINUTES BEFORE their scheduled pick-up time.
Weather conditions, road construction, traffic and train delays can also impact pick-up and drop-off times.
Routes tend to run slower for the first week or so of school.
Thank you for your time and attention! We look forward to a great school year!
Please reach out to us at (440) 427-6350 for assistance and/or any questions.
Food Service Information and Breakfast/Lunch Menus
As all students will be returning next week, we wanted to take a moment to remind you to complete the free/reduced meal application before the first day of school, so benefits are active when students come through the cafeteria line. Applications must be submitted each school year, even if you qualified for meal benefits the previous school year. Click the link below for the application and instructions. We're Teaming Up with the Cleveland Browns for a Special School Attendance Program!
Dear Families,
We’re kicking off something exciting this year at Olmsted Falls City Schools—and we want YOU on our team! We’re proud to announce our new partnership with the Cleveland Browns Foundation as part of the Stay in the Game! Attendance Network.
The Stay in the Game! program is all about helping students come to school every day, ready to learn and grow. Why? Because being in school regularly makes a BIG difference—especially for our youngest learners! When students miss too many days, it can be hard to catch up on learning, build friendships, and stay connected.
It’s a statewide program that works with schools and families to help kids:
Build strong attendance habits
Stay excited about school
Celebrate small wins and progress along the way
And yes—there will be fun events, surprises, and special moments throughout the year inspired by our hometown football team, the Cleveland Browns!
Missing just 2 days a month adds up to over 3 weeks of missed learning each year.
Regular routines help young children feel safe, confident, and successful.
Showing up every day builds the habits and skills that last a lifetime.
We know that life can be busy, and sometimes things come up. That’s why we’re here to support you with resources, encouragement, and creative solutions to help your child “stay in the game” all year long.
Let’s make this school year one full of learning, growth, and Bulldog spirit! When we work together, great things happen—for our kids and our community.
Thanks for being part of our team!
Go Browns! Go Bulldogs!
