Falls-Lenox Primary School Newsletter
March 1, 2024
Dear Falls-Lenox Families,
It is hard to believe that today is the end of the second trimester! Report Cards will be posted to PowerSchool on Wednesday, March 6th. We have started our "One School, One Book" program this week, and teachers are reading The Wild Robot by Peter Brown aloud to their classes throughout the months of February and March! The school-wide read-aloud will culminate during Right to Read Week the week of March 18th with special classroom activities! If you would like to read along with your child, the reading schedule can be found below.
Right to Read Week Volunteer Requests:
Help transform the halls of Falls-Lenox for a one of a kind Right to Read Week experience for your student(s)! Volunteers are needed to assist with the creation of decorations and set up next week (Feb. 26 - March 1, 2024). Decoration creation is no more than tracing, basic scissor and glue skills... no need to be an artist to assist! We'll be decorating after school on March 14, 2024 and will need 10 volunteers to help with this endeavor. (Feel free to bring your older student(s) with you. We had an OFIS helper for Polar Express Day and it was great!) Sign up here: Falls-Lenox Right to Read Week decor and set up volunteers
The Scholastic Book Fair is returning to Falls-Lenox for Right to Read Week (March 18 - 22). Volunteers will be needed to assist with the book fair during the week and during Family Literacy Night on March 21. Sign up here: Falls-Lenox Book Fair Volunteers
Next week, all of our second graders will be attending Playhouse Square on Friday, March 8th to see the Children's Play, Rosie Revere, Engineer. Students should dress up for this special day! The story/book is about a second grader named Rosie who is an aspiring engineer who creates inventions out of found objects and trash, including a hot dog dispenser, helium pants, and a hat for a zookeeper uncle. Afraid of failure, she hides them away under her bed, until a fateful visit from her great aunt who shows her that failure isn't something to fear!
We are hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive at Falls-Lenox next week on March, 5th from 3:30-7:30 p.m. in the Falls Gym. If you are interested in supporting this cause, the registration information can be found below.
We have brought back our lunchroom helpers! The link to sign up to be a lunchroom helper can be found HERE - Falls-Lenox Lunchroom Volunteers.
Check out the "Community Connections" tab for information about community actvities and events for kids!
If at any time you have questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to contact our main office at (440) 427-6400.
Sincerely,
Ms. Lisa M. Williams

In collaboration with Officer Swope, the following guidelines will help ensure the safety of our students. We appreciate your patience and help!
Children should enter/exit vehicles on the passenger side (directly near the sidewalk) only.
Please pull all the way forward to the white sign that says, "pull up here", so that we can keep the line moving.
Parents and Caregivers should remain in their vehicles.
