Falls-Lenox Primary School Newsletter
September 27, 2024
Dear Falls-Lenox Families,
Happy Fall! I hope that everyone has had a great week! This week letters were sent home for students who qualified for our title one reading intervention program. If your child will be participating in this program, please note that the Title One Open House has been moved to Wednesday, October 23rd.
Our students have learned about safety drills at Falls-Lenox, and we held our first safety drill today. Our safety drills this year will consist of different types of drills under the A.L.I.C.E. procedures. The first type of drill is to practice our procedures for a Stay in Place Lockdown Drill. This is the type of safety drill that we practiced today. We use the following language with the children to prepare them for safety drills. You may also wish to prepare your child using the same language to help support safety at school. It is our goal to prepare students for this type of emergency without causing undue worry or alarm. The staff and students did a great job with our safety drill this morning. As in all situations, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
At school, we continue to make sure that all of you are safe. We have Officer Ketterer in the front of the building making sure that only safe people come into our school. We also have Officer Swope who walks around and checks to ensure our building is safe. All of the doors to our school are locked and Officer Ketterer unlocks the front door for people visiting. However, just in case a stranger comes into our building, we are going to practice what we should do to keep all of us safe. This is a lot like our fire and tornado drills. We don’t expect that we will ever actually have a fire or tornado or a stranger in our building, but we have to practice what we should do to keep safe just in case it does happen.
The second grade class will be going to Hale Farm next Friday, October 4th. Parents must complete the returning student registration in Powerschool and have paid school fees in order for your child to attend the field trip. If you have any questions about this, please contact our main office.
The ECC/FL PTA has kicked off their fall acts of kindness fundraiser, "Raze Craze". Thank you to our families who are participating in this fundraiser; it will run until October 14th!
Please check out the Community Connections tab for information about additional Olmsted Falls and community based extra-curricular activities for your child.
If at any time you have questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to contact our main office at (440) 427-6400.
Sincerely,
Ms. Lisa M. Williams
Falls-Lenox Principal

Raise Craze - FLECC PTA Fall Fundraiser (now - October 14, 2024)
Step up and make a difference with our FLECC PTA Fall fundraiser! This is more than just a donation—it's a powerful conversation starter for your family about the ripple effect of kindness in our world. When you contribute, your child takes on a mission to spread goodness, akin to their dedication in a Read-a-thon or Run-a-thon. It's about teaching compassion through action.
Let's rally together, contribute to our schools' success, and inspire our kids to pay it forward with heartfelt acts of kindness. Your involvement is needed for us to be able to continue to provide the same or similar experiences as we have in past years. This includes field trips, programs/assemblies, field day and grade specific activities such as Kindergarten Bridge Ceremony and 3rd grade picnic.
Let's show our children the true power of giving!

Donations may also be made via Givebacks or check written out to FLECC PTA and placed in the FLECC PTA mailbox in either building.
