Falls-Lenox Primary School Newsletter
Sept. 26, 2025
Dear Falls-Lenox Families,
As we head into October, we have a new Word of the Month, which is "Integrity", and students will be learning about what this means and how to show this characteristic.
If your child qualified for Title One Reading Tutoring, your child should have brought home a letter this week. There is a parent meeting/open house on Wednesday, October 22nd at 5:30 in the FL media center where you can learn more about our Title One Reading Program, and the ways to help support your child with his/her reading at home.
There is no school for staff and students on October 10th and no school for students on Monday, October 13th (Oct. 13th is a Staff PD Day).
Please check out the "Counselor Corner" (click on the three lines in the top left corner) for detailed school counseling information, resources from Mrs. DeLuca, and information about her September lessons! Also, please check out the "Community Connections" tab for information about community activities and events for kids!
We are looking for a recess aide! If you are interested in spending time with our awesome students, please email Ms. Williams at lwilliams@ofcs.net. This is a paid position with Olmsted Falls City Schools. The hours are 10:20-12:20 daily.
Missing Glasses? There are several pairs of prescription glasses that have been turned into the office. If your child is missing his/her glasses, please have them check the office!
PTA Fundraiser Raise Craze kicks off today! Check out this video to learn more about how this simple fundraiser works: https://raisecraze.com/how-it-works-video

Meet Matthew Chege! Former Falls-Lenox Student and now Author! Matthew will be coming to Falls-Lenox next week to talk with the third grade classes about the process of publishing a book. If you are interested in purchasing his book, the link can be found below.
About the Author:
Hi everyone! My name is Matthew Chege. I’m 12 years old, in 7th grade, and the middle child with two awesome brothers.
I love playing sports —especially soccer and basketball—and I’m planning to try out for the track team soon. Outside of school, I enjoy biking , hanging out with my friends, shooting hoops, and playing video games like NBA 2K, FIFA, and Madden. Sometimes I even go golfing with my family and friends.
In school, my favorite subjects are Math and free writing, and I also enjoy free piano play , ping pong , and playing pool with my dad.
When it comes to writing, I started making up short stories back in 2nd grade and loved reading them to my family. At age nine, I began writing what later became my first published book, Back in Time! The story is packed with crazy adventures where the characters have to use their powers and teamwork to find their way back to Earth safely.
But my book is more than just an adventure—part of the money from every copy sold helps support education for kids in Kenya, so each purchase helps open doors for others.
I hope to write more books in the future.

The following information must be provided: Student name, reason for absence, and parent/guardian name and contact phone number. In the event a parent/guardian neglects to notify the main office of an absence, a written note must be provided upon return to school. All written verification must be received in the main office immediately upon the student’s arrival to school. Please refer to the student handbook posted on our website for specific information regarding excused and unexcused absences.
Dear Families
We’re kicking off something exciting this year at Olmsted Falls City Schools—and we want YOU on our team! We’re proud to announce our new partnership with the Cleveland Browns Foundation as part of the Stay in the Game! Attendance Network.
The Stay in the Game! program is all about helping students come to school every day, ready to learn and grow. Why? Because being in school regularly makes a BIG difference—especially for our youngest learners! When students miss too many days, it can be hard to catch up on learning, build friendships, and stay connected.
It’s a statewide program that works with schools and families to help kids:
Build strong attendance habits
Stay excited about school
Celebrate small wins and progress along the way
And yes—there will be fun events, surprises, and special moments throughout the year inspired by our hometown football team, the Cleveland Browns!
Missing just 2 days a month adds up to over 3 weeks of missed learning each year.
Regular routines help young children feel safe, confident, and successful.
Showing up every day builds the habits and skills that last a lifetime.
We know that life can be busy, and sometimes things come up. That’s why we’re here to support you with resources, encouragement, and creative solutions to help your child “stay in the game” all year long.
Let’s make this school year one full of learning, growth, and Bulldog spirit! When we work together, great things happen—for our kids and our community.
Thanks for being part of our team!
Go Browns! Go Bulldogs!
Sincerely,
Lisa Williams
Principal
