For my final data visualization project, I chose to work with data from year of colonization in seperate countries.
I decided to work with this dataset because it was really interesting to me that the majority of colonized countries are all around one sections.
In my visualization, the data is represented as dots, with the bigger the dot being the more years it was colonized
To interact with the visualization, try hovering over the dots, and read the top corner!
One interesting thing I noticed during this project is most colonized countries are primarily around africa, which is pretty understandable, considerince the scramble for africa
Something I still wonder about is why there are areas in asia that were largely colonized, but never got free until recently.
The most challenging moment of this project was making the graph work out in the way that I wanted so that I could compile all the data along with the longitude and latitude
If I had more time, I would like to add extinct languages and see which places have higher levels of extinct languages.
My proudest moment during this project was when i got the colours to work! :)
