For my final data visualization project, I chose to work with obesity rates.
I decided to work with this dataset because I wanted to show people different countries obesity rates. I also wanted to see if there was a geographical connection and if countries in specific areas had higher or lower rates.
In my visualization, the data is represented as dots in each country. They vary in size and transparency. The countries with large and opaque dots have higher rates, while the countries with small and transparent dots have lower rates.
To interact with the visualization, try hovering the mouse over the dots. next to the dots a number will appear, showing the exact rate of the country.
One interesting thing I noticed during this project is that most of the asian countries have lower rates.
Something I still wonder about is how different variables affect obesity rates.
The most challenging moment of this project was missing a lot of class. I missed multiple due to sickness, high schools, or trips.
If I had more time, I would like to research different variable to compare to obesity.
My proudest moment during this project was when my entire code was deleted so I had to push through and start over.
