For my final data visualization project, I chose to work with wildfires in California from 2013-2019.
I decided to work with this dataset because it had some very interesting data to work with.
In my visualization, the data is represented as a heatmap of fires that occured over the course of 2013-2019.
To interact with the visualization, try scrolling in any direction by clicking and moving your mouse. You can also hover over the dots to find the number of acres burnt.
One interesting thing I noticed during this project is that central California didn't seem to be affected by wildfires.
Something I still wonder about is how the land around central California seemed to be a hotspot for fires while central California remained free of fires.
The most challenging moment of this project was trying to group up data points.
If I had more time, I would like to add more information to the hover text.
My proudest moment during this project was when I got the help to make my data into a heat map.
