Social Impacts

A dense format for the front and back end activities are required for an effective implementation of the services provided at Kala Safari. These activities require a complex web of interaction between various members of the local community, experts in the related field, other service providers and stakeholders.

As service providers, understanding the activities happening at backend are as crucial as the services we provide on the front end.

This model will not just be helpful for service execution, but would also direct us towards the major social impacts, on the immediate and overall population connected with Kala Safari.

The design interventions not only aim at improving the quality of the Craft sector but also has some in-built core qualities, that may lead to following impacts on the society overall:

  • A natural way of learning and abiding sense of responsible living, by experiencing the craft practices.

  • Appreciating smaller details of life of self and others around us.

  • A sense of 'Empathy' is likely to develop naturally during the whole journey.

  • Understanding the privileges that we have over others, in one or the other way, which is likely to make our actions more thought through.

  • A new way for the youth to stay connected to the craft sector, without compromising their educational aspects.

  • Various occupations working within this service, may provide a push to the declining 'sense of community', by making them realize the advantages of working together.

  • The service will also give a nudge to the current perspectives of the Handicrafts, if not to a great extent.

  • The service brings various other processes related to the making of craft, thus also making people more aware towards this sector, in a very entertaining way.
