Social Impact

Impacts of Service on various sections of the society

KhumbhSrishti aims at creating an identity for seasonal crafts and the community practicing pottery craft. The service indulges in crafting an online virtual pottery creation experience in sync with the practices across different regions of potters community following the natural climatic conditions in the production process.

We target the in-season approach as with identity creation comes change in the perception both at the crafts level and the community practising the craft. In the bigger picture, identity creation also highlights the critical situation of craftsmen being off-work for a certain period in a year.

The social impact mapping takes into consideration the impact at various levels from immediate effects, the first degree impact to second and third. Some of the ripple effects are as follows:

1) Increase in value of pottery products and increase in return of investment.

2) Creation of new mode of craftsmen and consumer engagement.

3) Cross-cultural learning in product development amongst the craftsmen.

4) Increased invlovement in international exhibitions.

5) Introduction of production processes in schools and increased invlovment of students with the concept.

Supporting SDG Goal8 and Goal 12:

SDG Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth

The SDGs promote sustained economic growth, higher levels of productivity and technological innovation. Encouraging entrepreneurship and job creation are key to this. With these targets in mind, the goal is to achieve full and productive employment, and decent work, for all women and men by 2030.

SDG Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production

Achieving economic growth and sustainable development requires that we urgently reduce our ecological footprint by changing the way we produce and consume goods and resources. Encouraging industries, businesses and consumers to recycle and reduce waste is equally important, as is supporting developing countries to move towards more sustainable patterns of consumption by 2030.
