Faculty content developers who create materials within the Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS) often choose to share these resources with their colleagues. If a colleague (faculty member, dean or DIID instructional designer) requests to copy an entire course or specific course elements from one Brightspace course shell to another, the faculty content developer must provide written permission using a Course Content Sharing Request.
Course materials created solely by an individual faculty member (e.g. introductions, videos, lightboard training, assignments, quiz questions, discussion questions, etc.) are owned by that faculty content developer and require specific approval for sharing.
On this form, the faculty content developer can specify which elements to include or exclude and set a duration for access, if applicable. After completing the form, it is submitted via Etrieve to the Department of Instructional Innovation and Design (DIID) team's ticketing system. All relevant parties will receive communication through the ticketing system for any questions and the decision made by the faculty content developer. Everyone will be notified when the approved course content has been successfully copied. No content will be copied or shared by the DIID Team without the faculty content developer’s approval.
