Learning Centers

Our learning centers are conveniently located on the Calmar and Peosta campuses, the Dubuque center and virtually through Upswing. Students are encouraged to visit the learning centers early and often to take advantage of free academic assistance either virtually or on-campus. Appointments are not required, but are recommended for study skills and/or writing sessions.

Our Learning Center Instructional Specialists are friendly content area experts that provide academic support in a wide range of subjects including math, science, writing, reading, test preparation, study strategies, academic coaching, paper reviews, and much more. The learning center staff is dedicated to helping underprepared students prepare, prepared students advance and advanced students excel. Our goal is to support students, but not do the work for them. Students are always welcome to use the Learning Center spaces to do their homework even if they do not need tutor assistance.

Online Support Available: NICC has partnered with Upswing to provide students with a 24/7, free and convenient academic support in an online environment. Tutoring is available with both NICC and Upswing tutors.
