Quality Course Design

DIID instructional designers work with faculty through a Quality Course Design Process to help develop new courses and accentuate strengths in existing courses. The DIID team is focused on providing high-quality learning experiences that incorporate values of learner-centric design and high-standard delivery methods that uphold the integrity of the College. Evaluating and enhancing quality in courses supports student and instructor success, and helps the College achieve institutional goals.

The Department of Instructional Innovation and Design (DIID) has put together this site to help guide NICC faculty and staff in their efforts to develop and facilitate quality, inclusive, and innovative learner experiences, Quality Course Design at NICC.  All online courses must meet the guidelines outlined in the Quality Course Design Standards (also available as a rubric). This document specifies the quality assurance standards for the LMS components of all NICC courses. Aligning to these standards will also help faculty meet the expectations of their dean’s faculty observation rubric in alignment with the Quality Faculty Plan.
