The DIID instructional designers are here for you! We work with faculty through a Quality Course Design Process to assist in the development of new courses and accentuate strengths in existing courses. The DIID team focuses on providing high-quality learning experiences that incorporate learner-centric design and delivery methods that uphold the integrity of the College and support the Quality Assurance of Course Design & Delivery in the Learning Management System policy. Evaluating and enhancing course quality supports student and instructor success and helps the College achieve its institutional goals.
The Department of Instructional Innovation and Design (DIID) has put together a Quality Course Design website to help guide NICC faculty and staff in developing and facilitating quality, inclusive, and innovative learner experiences at NICC. All courses must meet the applicable guidelines outlined in the Quality Course Design Standards and on our Quality Course Design Standards rubric. Aligning these standards will also help faculty meet the expectations of their dean’s faculty observation rubric in alignment with the Quality Faculty Plan.
Email online@nicc.edu or talk to your dean to initiate the collaborative course build or evaluation process.
Faculty should be conscious of the various technical requirements of their course materials. The baseline technical requirements for students are listed in the College Catalog. If your course utilizes technical services such as Honorlock, be sure to communicate the expectations to your students and allow ample time for the students to make arrangements if their devices are not compatible.
