Class Recording

Class Recording Guidelines

1. Faculty are required to record all face to face theory courses (delivered face to face in the classroom or face to face via Zoom in an online synchronous or video class format).

2. Faculty have the autonomy to decide how they will disseminate class recordings to their students. Faculty should place their class recording policy in their syllabus.

Faculty may choose to release and post all class recordings in their class for all students to access at any time.

Faculty may choose to release class recordings to students for circumstances outlined in their syllabus – for example a student illness, a student who attended, but wants to review the material, etc.

3. Faculty may designate in their syllabus their policy on class attendance and participation – e.g. “Viewing a class recording does not constitute class attendance or participation unless otherwise approved by the instructor.”
