MISSION: The Department of Instructional Innovation and Design (DIID) at Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) drives success by fostering quality and innovation in instructional design and delivery while supporting college-wide initiatives. 

VISION: DIID will be the cornerstone of innovation and instructional excellence at NICC by ensuring high-quality course design and delivery and implementing cutting-edge technologies and strategies that foster the success of our students, faculty, and staff.

• Cultivate quality courses: To develop, maintain, and support courses, teaching strategies, and resources aligned with our Quality Course Design Standards, regardless of modality. 

• Support our stakeholders: Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to foster a culture of continuous learning centered around student success.

• Orchestrate learning technologies: To leverage emerging technology trends, tools, and services to augment NICC’s courses and services while supporting user engagement with the D2L Brightspace Learning Management System.

• Support College initiatives: To provide on-demand support for cross-departmental projects to further the College's mission and contribute to its success.

• Maintain Department resiliency: To enhance our team’s professional growth, foster a culture of resource sharing, and encourage innovation within our team so that we can better serve our stakeholders.
