This is the target schedule to meet the requirements for the course and the AP exam schedule. The instructor reserves the right to adjust the schedule.
This means future units will be updated and adjustments will be made as needed. The schedule is presented with daily work to keep the workload in smaller, doable chunks that also maintain balance of work. You will find that you will have flexibility to address and complete assignments earlier than indicated to maintain effective time management with your other classes.
Submissions are submitted to Google Classroom or live in class unless specifically identified otherwise.
Submission of work is limited as it will be in college. Some skills development activities or activities focusing on the process will have soft deadlines (suggested deadlines to keep to the schedule) to provide flexibility; however, specific assignments and assessments have firm deadlines. The assignment post in Google Classroom will indicate if the deadline.
You will find that each AP topic is addressed with several standard assignments to complete reading, Short Answer Question (SAQ) prompts, Key Concepts research, SumHIPPOS assignments, Benchmark Review Questions (BRQ) on AP Classroom, and Topic Reflections. Once you are comfortable with these components, you will recognize how you can adjust your schedule to work on them.
Other APUSH Community activities, College & Career, AP We in Service, and other school business may be added later or provided separately in Google Classroom.
In the first period of study, you are focusing on getting comfortable with the assignments and adjusting being back in school so the assignments are individual assignments. Then we begin to bring in academic conversations and document analysis activities which are a staples in this course.
Do not delay in seeking clarification. Take advantage of the live settings to ask clarifying questions. You are also encouraged to email or use the direct message feature in Google Classroom to ask questions.
Scholars new to AP need to ask lots of questions and should take advantage of the Academic Support (break, lunch, appointment) to get additional, specialized instruction and support.
