You did it! It's our first Friday!!! I really want to celebrate that with everyone's collaboration we were able to cut our dismissal time by 12 minutes! I know it's going to get better too! Thank you everyone for your sweat this week - Let's celebrate the AMAZING staff we have!!! 🎉🙌🏽😃
Welcome Back Adams' Fam!!
What a week! But we did it! and I have to say dismissal has been a bear - but visiting your classrooms has brought so much joy to my heart! I am LOVING what I am seeing in your classrooms. I can tell that you all took our Kagan training to heart and are implementing it so well with your students. I'm seeing Kagan mats on tables/desks and seeing kids engaging in conversations with smiles on their faces! You all are truly setting up our students for success so that we can erase the negative effects that last year had on them - especially in regards to the social emotional learning of our students! I am seeing already that our students love being in your classes - you're making learning fun!
I can't wait for others to see what you're doing in your classrooms - PLEASE let's share with each other. Let us know if you want to observe other classrooms - we will make it happen! If there is something in particular you're not sure about like how to utilize success criteria or AVID notes or Tribes or Thinking Maps - we have experts on campus that can help and that I know are very open to having you in their classrooms. I learn soooo much because I get to go into all of your classrooms - don't be shy - together we make each other better for our students!
But speaking of coming into your classrooms - our superintendent Andi Fourlis will be here Wednesday from 9-9:45 AM PLEASE dress to impress and be ready for a possible visit.
Adams team - We got this!

We updated the Staff Handbook which has a lot of very useful information for Adams' staff members - so PLEASE look through the items that are available to you here: http://www.mpsaz.org/adams/staff-handbook/
If you feel like there is something that would be helpful to everyone that is not there - please email me so we can fix that!
Thank you teachers for your participation and positivity during the Fastbridge training! I can see many of you are already certified in your grade level. Way to go! Next Wednesday 8/11, we will focus on Progress Monitoring and Math. Please feel free to reach out to me or Natalie if you have any questions. Thank you!
THANK YOU!!
I have such a grateful heart for all the work you have done this week. Someone told me I forgot how much energy this takes. I am sure you are all exhausted and looking forward to getting some R & R this weekend, it is well deserved. PLEASE take time for yourself! Dean Chang
Our Superintendent Andi Fourlis will be visiting Adams this Wednesday 8/11 from 9-9:45 PLEASE be prepared for a possible visit to your classroom!
We will be sending out the committees document out as soon as it has been updated. Every certified staff member that is at Adams only needs to sign up for at least one committee. IF there is a committee that you were thinking about that you'd like to start up - let me know and we can get it figured out!
So do we have anyone willing to coordinate the garden club? We would love to have our students supporting the gardens' growth but of course we need somebody in charge of that! Or several people could help with that job! Let me know if that is something you'd like to do!
I know I can get some donations from Lowe's if we can get this going - I was hoping to set up a Saturday where we have parents come in to help - I'd love to do after school but it is just to dang hot to do that right now.
Reflecting about learning is an essential way to cement the learning for the day! The AVID focus for the month of August is DLIQ - which is a great way to organize those reflections- it is also a wonderful way to assess your students' learning at the end of the lesson!
Huge THANK YOU to Natalie Short & Renee Geyer for training teachers in Fastbridge this Wednesday!!! You two are AWESOME!!
and thank you to Laura Braidi for welcoming us to her classroom for the training - it looks gorgeous!
Thinking Maps!
Sarah Sage and Melissa Schein are excellent resources for how to use Thinking Maps! You can also check out this website ▶
Clearly not just anyone can be a teacher no matter how talented they are!
