A new school year is underway and we are starting face to face in person with everyone!!! We learned so much from last school year and so did our students and we will move forward into the school year together with this new knowledge, able to incorporate it into our repertoire - both students and staff being better for it! We have overcome so much, proving just how capable we all are! Let's celebrate what an amazing year this is going to be and let's go!!!!
Welcome Back Adams' Fam!!
I have a really good feeling about this school year! I am so excited to be with ALL of you in person working to do what we do - ensure our students' success! We are going to get back to what we know is best for kids and what made us the model school that we are. We still are an AVID Showcase School - but for obvious reasons we did step away from doing things the way we knew how. We are not going backwards but forwards with new knowledge to enhance what we already knew how to do. We are going to work together to bring the very best for our students - we are going to be helping each other grow as we help our students because that is how we change lives and that is why we are here. Thank you for moving forward with us and for all that you will bring to our Adams team. We got this!

We do have a couple of staff updates since May:
Both our PK and site wide SLP teachers will now be Mesa employees instead of Contract employees which is a good thing for us! AND our new SLP is bilingual!
This Friday Martina (our amazing Family Support Specialist) and I will be attending a community event called School Connect which connects local businesses and services with schools! I am excited about the prospects and what this will mean for our school! I've already heard that there will be at least 5 businesses and 1 mega church that we will have the opportunity to work with. If you have ideas of how they can help our campus in mutually beneficial ways - please let me know! Some ideas I'm already planning to pitch are a career day opportunity at our school, volunteerism, having a table at our parent events, and of course finding anyways to spoil all of you!
AVID is how we do things at Adams - it is at the heart of all we do! Writing Inquiry Collaboration Organization Reading WICOR is a big way we ensure rigor in our lessons. Here are a couple of resources to help refresh or learn more about it!

Seeing all of your cars in the parking lot and having visits from you in room 25 has put a big smile on my face - to see the school buzzing again - Thank you for all of the work you are putting into ensuring the best for your students - I very much appreciate you.
