THREE DAY WEEKEND!!!!!! AND Dean Chang is staying at Adams next year!!!! There was a chance she was being moved to another school as there was some dean shuffling - but I think I pleaded our case enough that they felt compelled to keep her here!!!!!😍🙌✨🎉😁
Dear Adams' Fam!!
Thank you again to all of you who are doing such an amazing job getting our students prepared to show what they know on our end of year assessments. I was so impressed with the prewriting that students did prior to typing their responses for AASA writing! I am really excited to see our growth this school year - I know we have made a lot of improvements since last school year! Thank you all for that. PLEASE for the Math Test make sure that you speak to students before hand about the importance of checking their work so they don't make silly mistakes! Talk to them about visualizing their notes and TAKING THEIR TIME and staying focused! There are lots of measures that show what a wonderful school we are but I don't want our end of year academic measures to sell us short!
Going around to most of the teams yesterday to watch the training with you, I was excited about how much thought you all are putting into this. I know it is a lot but we will get there and it will be good for our students and you! Remember we have 20 hours of paid planning time this summer just for this. We also have a few extra hours to do any other non new curriculum planning you want to do!
Thanks again for all you continue to do for our students!
😍
Adams team - We got this!

Our April AVID Strategy of the month is Goal Setting
To the right here ➡There are some resources here to help you - the attachment at the top right is the entire Bridges Book - there are MANY topics that you can search there - use the table of contents but I do recommend if you have AVID questions to go there or to MyAVID.org
This is very timely with testing coming up! Please make sure that you have your students write goals around their testing to make sure that they take it seriously and know that their results will be looked at not only by you but by them too! For those tests that we will have the results for before the end of the school year, develop a class incentive for reaching those goals, individually and as a class. Let me know if you need help with ideas about this!
Thank you for your positive attitudes as we round the corner to the end of the school year! I'm already looking forward to seeing how it pays off as we start next school year off a little more stable next year!
