I CAN Program is coming to Adams next school year! This program is only coming to two campuses in Mesa - It is an after school program that is FREE! It will be open to 40 of our students and will even provide dinner to them as well as really engaging academic support! I'm so excited for our students and families!
Dear Adams' Fam!!
😍 Happy Friday! There is a lot going on at the district level and beyond with our state! Lupita Almanza is a wonderful person to go to if you have questions about the AEL (Aggregate Expenditure Limit). This will potentially have an impact on our budget at the district level so it is definitely something to pay attention to!
Also, at our Tuesday meeting they let us know that every school will be getting an ESSR funded instructional coach for the 22-23 school year. This is kinda what we already applied for at the beginning of the school year and what was granted to us. However, our model was slightly different. So we are not getting an extra coach, our coaching model will still be what we proposed - Two half time teachers that share one class and coach half time math and ELA, so our model will be unique in the district. I think this model is best because the coaches still have one foot in the classroom and therefore still have the teachers' perspective and understand the realities of teaching today!
I'm very excited about being able to provide these supports next school year - I know it will be very good for our students and staff!
Also, team leaders and I went through all of the feedback that was given during our meeting on Tuesday. We very much appreciate your candor, support, and willingness to help us problem solve with ideas! I hope you have noticed that I hear you and we are working hard to make sure specials are not cancelled from now on! When we don't have a substitute, I will take those classes or find someone who can when I am absolutely not available.
If you have anything other feedback PLEASE let us know so that we can attempt to problem solve it!
Adams team - We got this!

This opportunity is ONLY for the schools listed above at this time.
When: Your school's teacher "shop" day is Wednesday, February 16th, 2022
(2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
Where: Feed the Children - 3475 S McQueen Rd, Chandler, AZ 85286
Who can participate: Any Mesa Public Schools teacher from the schools listed above who register to attend on (Date). When creating your account, please use your MPS email address.
How it Works: Teachers from your school use the attached directions for creating a profile/account. Your teachers will, then, register for the Shop day they have been invited to attend. On the day of the "shop" teachers show up to the Chandler facility between 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. (You will have 30 minutes to shop) Each teacher must have closed toe shoes and wear a mask at the facility. Each teacher will bring their large shopping bag from their initial shopping opportunity and can fill it (again) with free resources for their classroom. In addition, there are brand new books for teacher libraries and limited teacher furniture. (Each teacher is responsible for transporting items back to their classroom.) Supplies vary from corporate donations across the United States.
❖ New to Feed the Children Teacher Shop? You will need to create an account first! (Instructions attached). Once you have created your account, you will have access to register for your shopping day.
❖ First time at Feed the Children Teacher Shop? We will give you a large shopping bag to fill with the free resources. No need to bring a bag of your own. Keep the bag we give you! You will bring it back with you for the next shopping opportunity!
We have already held six teacher shop days for Mesa Schools. It is an AMAZING opportunity for our teachers!
If you need help creating your account or registering for your shopping day, please contact Clara Arvayo at 472-0233.
Sincerely,
Michele Grimaldi
