Next week is Rock Your School Day and we have so many cool things going on because of it!! Thank you so much to everyone who has made that happen!!!
Dear Adams' Fam!!
This week flew by! 😅 Thank you so much for all of the time you have put into making sure our students families are well informed during conferences and to those of you who supported conferences with translation🙌. It is so important that we keep up those relationships not only with our students but also with our parents - it makes a difference. One of the huge advantages I've gained from having morning and afternoon duty is my ability to now connect with parents that I probably would not have talked to otherwise - sadly I tend to only know the parents of our students that are having issues for the most part - but not this year! I'm not sure if that is true for you too - but think about connecting more with those parents you wouldn't otherwise call and build a relationship with them too!
We will be starting up our PTO again and I would love to see it stronger than ever with more parents participating - I am going to call on all staff to reach out to a parent to come to our PTO meetings. We don't have a date or time yet - but be on the lookout. Our parents want to support their children at home - we need to make sure they feel welcomed to do so and give them positive avenues to be able to do this! Jordan Simon will be taking on PTO this year - I'm sure she'd love suggestions and support from you all! 😍
Adams team - We got this!

Counselor Corner
We would like to thank all of our amazing teachers for taking the time to meet with so many parents this week for conferences. We could not do our job so effectively without you advocating for your students.
Thank you so much and keep up the AMAZING work!!
Custodial
Looks like we should be able to hire another part time person to work daytime custodial soon - we just had some applicants and interviews! I know what you're thinking - we need a night person and I totally agree - but it's harder to find someone willing to work those hours than day - but I'm sure whomever we hire for day will be willing to help a bit in the evenings too or can at least make up for some of those night issues.
We have a photocircle 📸 for 21-22 Here is the link: https://join.photocircleapp.com/BKK7J4260Y

Our October AVID Strategy of the month is one-pagers. This is a very effective way to help students reflect on and summarize their learning. It can be used in any content area and allows students to get creative and make more connections to their learning which equates to more long-term learning! If you have never done one before, get with your team and brainstorm how to best start implementing it and put it in your lesson plans so you can make it happen. And of course, you can always come to me if you need support - also to the right is a good resource to get you and your students started make sure you check it out!
Thanks again to all of the people who are filling in for our vacancies around campus especially in the cafeteria and playground - Safety comes first and you are making a difference for OUR students!
RIGHT NOW - Open up your Kagan Books and your Lesson Plans and put a new Kagan structure in your lesson plans! There are so many Kagan structures that I am sure you haven't tried yet - be bold an do it - I believe in you - you can do it! Actually, part of our incentive goal 💵 this year is to increase engagement via Kagan structures, so Hollie and I will be coming around to see how we're doing with this - that is the accountability piece from our incentive goal too.
IF YOU NEED HELP PLEASE ASK! We are here for you and would love to support you with this!
I don't think I've sent this one before - but still funny anyway! enjoy!
