Dear Adams' Fam!!
I met with team leads yesterday to discuss our data and end of year assessments. We have been focused on learning all about Fastbridge data and as a result we haven't focused as much on School City data. I incorrectly understood that Fastbridge would eventually be replacing School City - it's not and that is because they give us different data. I do not like having the students take big assessments but I DO LIKE the data we get from assessments. Our CFA's (Common Formative Assessments) should be given while we're teaching to inform our teaching and allow us to adjust and give tier two interventions while the students are able to show growth. Summative assessments are after the learning and are a good way to look at how we did overall as a teacher, as a grade level, and as a school so that we can celebrate and determine what to keep doing or change for the following school year. It is also really good for the receiving teachers to have that end of year summative data so they know what standards their new students are coming in strong with and which ones they'll need support with. All this to say that I appreciate you helping your students to stay focused on taking the end of year School City Assessment! We will be offering a few incentives for that focus. The student in each class who shows the most growth on the School City Assessment will be able to have a pizza lunch with me! AND the class with the most growth will win a pizza party too! Please help the students set goals for this and I know they can show off what they know!
Thanks again for all you continue to do for our students!

Adams team - We got this!
